Does anyone have an article regarding hamate breaks? Doesn't it basically affect the hitter's power for the rest of the season? My fantasy team is light on steals but I had DeShields hoping he'd help. Might drop him now instead of carrying him on the DL.

Don't have an article, but I've seen numerous places that he saps power for months after they return.

That's what I thought. For a fringey fantasy guy like Deshields that probably means he's worthless this year. I get he's mostly wheels but he's a 10 homer guy to a 2 homer guy now and it will crater his OPS. f*** it I'm dropping him. Thanks.

I think it depends on which hand the break. If its on the same hand that holds the knob of the bat then yeah it could be a lingering thing since the hamate hook rests on the bat knob for every swing they take.

yeah its his left hand, its trouble. I'm not dropping him like Terminator, but we have lots of DL spots that I can sit and wait.

Too bad the O's offense is absolutely putrid-- 6 RUNS in 4 games. That's it. Worst batting average, OBP in baseball..

 

UPDATE: Mancini just homered.

Yeah guys, I'm busy with school stuff atm. I'm going to let the salt accumulate and then bring in a f***ing bobcat to dig that s*** out.

I'm not sure what you want them to do differently. It's the fourth inning.

Yeah this is more of a National League problem than a managerial decision problem.

I think I just read that they haven't scored a run off a starter in 46 innings going back to last year.
