Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Does anyone have an article regarding hamate breaks? Doesn't it basically affect the hitter's power for the rest of the season? My fantasy team is light on steals but I had DeShields hoping he'd help. Might drop him now instead of carrying him on the DL.

Don't have an article, but I've seen numerous places that he saps power for months after they return.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Don't have an article, but I've seen numerous places that he saps power for months after they return. That's what I thought. For a fringey fantasy guy like Deshields that probably means he's worthless this year. I get he's mostly wheels but he's a 10 homer guy to a 2 homer guy now and it will crater his OPS. f*** it I'm dropping him. Thanks.

If its on the same hand that holds the knob of the bat then yeah it could be a lingering thing since the hamate hook rests on the bat knob for every swing they take.

I'm not dropping him like Terminator, but we have lots of DL spots that I can sit and wait.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 The Orioles are awful at hitting the baseball--getting dominated by the Astros, and the O's haven't scored a run in 16 innings now.. this team is awful.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Yeah someone needs to fire that up again lol. That's Boxcar's designated job.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Generally don’t start a thread till we play them
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Too bad the O's offense is absolutely putrid-- 6 RUNS in 4 games. That's it. Worst batting average, OBP in baseball.. UPDATE: Mancini just homered.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Do you see who they have been running out there as the lead off man
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Yeah guys, I'm busy with school stuff atm. I'm going to let the salt accumulate and then bring in a f***ing bobcat to dig that s*** out.
Superdood Verified Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 EE with the inside the park homerun against the Angels lol
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Encarnacion rips an inside the park home run! Lol that is priceless. Just when you think you've seen it all. That's why I love baseball:o
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 EE with the inside the park homerun against the Angels lol Well you know what they say, speed doesn't slump
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Godamn D'backs... Runnner on 1st with no outs and they have Taijuan Walker hacking away and he promptly grounds into a double play. And of course the next better up rips a single followed by a Marte triple. What are they thinking? lol

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 Yeah this is more of a National League problem than a managerial decision problem. Exactly. Chalk up another one under the 'NL Sucks' category.

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Love watching Bart pitch Ugh. I'm a fan too, but I expected the A's to crush him. Not going well for my daily sports gaming adventures.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Edwin is off to an incredible start. Which is scary because hes a notorious slow starter.

I think I just read that they haven't scored a run off a starter in 46 innings going back to last year.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Kenley Jansen gives up his second homerun of the year as the D-Backs tie the game with a 3-run shot. Wow
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Holy s*** what a throw by Puig in the 14th inning to avoid a runner tagging from first to second on a long flyout.
