jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Who's now Shart. Very appropriate name for him.
Todd Verified Member Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 Blue jays should also trade for CHRISTIAN YELICH by sending Marlins Anthony Alford, Sean Reid-Foley, Justin Maese, Jonathan Davis. Also sign free agents Todd Frazier and Lance Lynn. Only sign Frazier if they trade Donaldson. You will see the why itn a bit.these moves.

Bichette or Vlad JR would have to be in a deal for Yelich I imagine(most likely Bo)

What's your strategy when the Marlins hang up the phone after you offer them Alford, SRF + garbage for Yelich?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 What's your strategy when the Marlins hang up the phone after you offer them Alford, SRF + garbage for Yelich? It's the Marlins though haha
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 It's the Marlins though haha It's also the Blue Jays and things generally don't come easy for us.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 I'd give up Bo in a deal for Yelich.
Todd Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 I'm confessed. Three of the four of them are in the blue top 10 and 1 is accounting to most on here. Is the blue jays 2 or 3 top prospect. And I might throw in Rowdy Tellez. But no way in hell should the blue jays trade Bo or Vlad. So why is it a garbage deal?
Todd Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 If all go's as planned then I would trade Marcus Stroman to Philadelphia for Franklin Kilome, Enel de los Santos, Darick Hall. Which changes the blue jays top 30 prospects. Helps the blue jays contend for the playoffs, And deepens the top half of the farm.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Gross. I'd for sure want Sixto if we are trading Stroman there. Yeah one of their top position prospects along with Sixto before we even get into secondary pieces like Kilome.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Yeah one of their top position prospects along with Sixto before we even get into secondary pieces like Kilome. It would likely start with Sixto and Crawford, and then from there you round it out with a couple guys like Kilome, Medina, or Suarez.

Stroman for Sixto, Crawford and Kilome/Medina/Suarez? I wish. That would be quite the haul for Sto. I'd be happy with Sixto, Kilome, Cozens.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 You guys think Crawford is going to hit? Good patience at the plate. Curious to see how he develops....although he stiffed my 7 yr old out of an autograph this past spring so f*** him a little bit.

Todd Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Can they trade Donaldson and still contend? This question was asked on blue jays banter. My answer would be yes if St.Louis or who ever had the right package. And the jays could sign the right free agents what do you think

My answer would be yes if St.Louis or who ever had the right package. And the jays could sign the right free agents what do you think It'd be pretty tough. We would be talking about taking a 3-6 WAR hit, depending on how much major league talent we got back. We are a fringe WC team as is, that would be tough to overcome.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Donaldson in a deal for Reyes+ Stroman in a deal for Sixto+ A total rebuild at this point is what I'm hoping for, blow it up.
Fiddlehead Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 The Donaldson rumours won’t go away and you know what they always say, “where’s there’s fire there’s surely going to be some smoke”.....I just hope Shapiro can get some value for JD

''where there's smoke, there's fire"
Fiddlehead Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 No, no, no... ''where there's smoke, there's fire" All I can see is fire.....I live near a lot of Card fans who are really hoping a deal is made.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Can they trade Donaldson and still contend? This question was asked on blue jays banter. My answer would be yes if St.Louis or who ever had the right package. And the jays could sign the right free agents what do you think I don't see them contending even with Donaldson. This isn't basketball where you can ride one or two players. I see aging players. Unathletic players. A decent rotation (with no room for injuries). The prospects are coming, but rookies even when they get here they often take a couple of seasons to adjust and hit their stride. I just don't see what some of your are seeing. I get that you have to field a team... But what I don't want is to be fed a line of s*** (ie. We're looking to contend 2018). You're not going to contend. Be honest and say we're retooling and we're looking to rebuild an athletic roster with the goal to have sustained success. That's what I want to hear, don't tell me patchwork solutions will keep us in the mix for 2018. At least the Leafs were honest and said there would be pain and they're building a program that would lead to prolonged success. I guess I'm just old fashioned in that I like a talented, young core rather than retreads hoping they catch lightning in a bottle.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I make the Bo+ for Yelich trade ONLY if we trade JD for two blue chips, and a starter (the Cards starting 3B and another).
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Donaldson in a deal for Reyes+ Stroman in a deal for Sixto+ A total rebuild at this point is what I'm hoping for, blow it up. What's with all the hype surrounding Sixto Sanchez? (nm - I found it. He throws 101) I don't even buy the hype on Reyes. 4.5 BB/9 (+/-) in every level. Low GB%. Luke Weaver is the guy you want (if you have trade him to the Cards). Personally - if we are moving Stro and JD, I'd rather get positional players back. Moniak, JP Crawford, Kingery. Cards don't have the positional players we should target (IMO). Could take a flyer on Delvin Perez I guess.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 What's with all the hype surrounding Sixto Sanchez? He's young with a power arsenal and good control. Good starting prospect
