I'd like to believe that if we are complaining about Zeke & Gibby then this team should be leading the division because we don't have anything else to complain about.

78 games in and Tulo & Morales are replacement level players. No manager can fix that and while Gibby is just doing desperate things it's simply not his fault where we sit. I don't disagree with you, he's made a lot of illogical decisions, especially of late and probably out of desperation but he can't just grab a PS4 controller and start hitting the ball for them.

I submit to you that letting Goins bat late in a close game (with runners in scoring position!), against a division rival (Orioles), while you have Pearce ( batting close to .500 at that time since coming off the dl) languishing on the bench is not just illogical......it is full on incompetent.

Morales and Tulo are big ticket players who the manager has no choice but play so agreed on that.

Thanks for setting up this inning Zeke. Really glad you came back so fast.

The sad thing is that it doesn't end at Morales & Tulo, I mean JD hasn't been himself of late, Bautista is an old man, Travis is made of glass and gone. The team is built around an aging core that is often injured and playing terribly below their expectations. Goins is a poor replacement player at best but him and Zeke were also here the last 2 years doing the same thing they are now. They aren't part of the success nor failure, they are just warm bodies and pinning blame on them is unfair because they are a fraction of the main issue.

Don't worry guys. Pearce will play tomorrow against Sale, probably go hitless, and that will be enough iN Gibby's mind to keep playing Zeke.

Seriously, end this season already.

I read his disdain for Gibby decision making, not pinning blame on AAAA guys.

I get that but Gibby can't go tell all of those players to eat their veggies, stretch their muscles, take anti-aging pills and play ball for them.

Oh I dont have a big issue with Gibby, I just thought you might of misread what Omar wrote, in that he was blaming Gibby not Goins or Zeke.

Gibby can give Jose and Morales more rest, though. Isn't that good for older players (or players in general)? Why can't Pearce DH or play 1B, moving Smoak to DH, and give Morales a blow? Why can't Zeke play RF, Pearce LF, and Bautista get an off day?

Gibbons got an old, slow roster. no question. That doesn't mean he is blameless. He can be a bit more creative in getting guys more rest and using the guys he does have. Won't matter much in the long run, but even tiny things can help out.

Agreed....but if your regulars are scuffling that is even more reason for the manager to be ultra prudent in his managing decisions not less so. When you have a chance to win the game you dont wave the white flag (letting Goins bat) and chalk it up to just another bad day.

I don't disagree. I think I'm just sick of seeing first pitch strikes go by. And it's Friday night and I'm still working albeit while drinking. :/

Man. I don't care what anyone says. I love Tulo. There is nothing better than when he gets hot at the plate.

It doesn't happen very often. He doesn't hit a lot of balls hard.

This ump might actually be a robot. Magnificent strike zone so far, from my quick viewing.

Yep. It's been tighter than a.....
