Knowing him, I'm sure he wasn't happy with his own performance and he's aware enough to know he wasn't pitching at an acceptable level. He's old, and you can't go on forever.

 

Too bad he didn't sign with the Jays a few years ago instead of returning to the Pirates. Would have really liked him to be here during his dominant prime.
