Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 .538 babip prior to tonight's game, so... yeah He's pounding the ball in to the ground and they are finding their way through.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 .538 babip prior to tonight's game, so... yeah Great speed will tend to inflate babip, just ask ichiro younger days

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 He's been lucky as f***. Exactly
nextyear Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I wonder if in the past 100 years there has been a more inept team than the Blue Jays with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 He's been lucky as f***. For sure, but he's already legged out 2 infield singles since his call up.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Pillar just needs to stand there and do nothing.. but he's too dumb to realize it.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 He's pounding the ball in to the ground and they are finding their way through. Yeah, his babip on grounders is like ... .580. Insane batted ball luck for him right now. Case and point was that last one that went for a double, it only went for a hit because the 1b was holding Tulo on. Any other position by the 1b and its a double play
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Great speed will tend to inflate babip, just ask ichiro younger days Yeah, but it won't inflate it .200 points
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Lol that was ugly. Scared of the ball
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 ffs Jr. Has Zeke been working with him on D?
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Yeah, but it won't inflate it .200 points Lol no s***
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Lost it in the lights... dangit
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Obviously he isn't going have that much success with the bat, but I think DSJ is going to be around a 90-95 WRC+ in the majors with good speed and defense. I think that's valuable.
BigBulgeBlueBird Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Dwight has to make that grab. Merryfeld got a lucky lighting there for sure.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Lol no s*** Ok, so not sure why you said that great speed would inflate babip as a seeming rationale to my post that it's was.538, when it obviously can't be
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 For sure, but he's already legged out 2 infield singles since his call up. That's fine and all, that ball was in the lights, not his fault.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Playing the royals is still a nightmare i see
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Ok, so not sure why you said that great speed would inflate babip as a seeming rationale to my post that it's was.538, when it obviously can't be I was just pointing out that kids with speed tend to have higher babip, not that this was in anyway sustainable
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Dam I was hoping he's get Osuna here
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 C'mon Birds add on!!! After we get this out, lol.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I was just pointing out that kids with speed tend to have higher babip, not that this was in anyway sustainable I wonder if it's actually the speed factor, or just the slap hitter approach that dinks singles over the infield that matters more. Would be an interesting case study. Holy f*** just looked it up... Nori Aoki hit 79 infield hits one season? That can't be right Edit... thank f*** it was over 2 seasons he had 79... I almost s*** my pants
