Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 This is a really f***ing nice day 1 for Toronto, wow. Warmoth is a legit two way player that will move fast. Pearson throws fire and probably isn't as raw as people think. I'm reading random reports now and random scouts do mention that his secondaries flash plus and his control is pretty good for a young flamethrower. I'm hyped. The Jays haven't seemed to develop many top of the order type bats over the years, it would be great if Warmoth can be that kind of player for us somewhere down the line.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Yeah. Billy Koch Or Ardolis Chapman.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 OMFG, I just watched Pearson videos and his mechanics are sublime. I mean f***ing perfect. Powerful and clean; impeccable timing. I'm in love.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 really you can read as much positive or negative things you want about any particular pick and use your own bias to hate or love a pick. Im not gonna pretend I know more than Shatkins and the entire scouting regime who've been tracking/scouting/interviewing these players for months. I think we've got the smartest FO we've ever had and I'll trust the picks we've made were the right ones. There's plenty to look forward to Yeah, this is obvious, we can still comment though, I'm already passed it. Lets take Heimlich at 61.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Lange prays a lot. Would not draft.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Yeah, this is obvious, we can still comment though, I'm already passed it. Lets take Heimlich at 61. KATOH loves Heimlich: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/katohs-top-250-draft-eligible-college-players/

Lets take Heimlich at 61. no doubt, just giving my 2 cents and stating the way I'm viewing things. People are allowed to disagree or be upset if they choose, I get it
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 We will get Carlson in the second round. Not even worried.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Jeter Downs. Do you think his parents named him after Derek Jeter?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Jeter Downs. Do you think his parents named him after Derek Jeter?Jeter with a touch of Downs.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Conner Greene now have a legitimate rival. Best fastball in Jays organization. Pearson is the guy now
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Jeter with a touch of Downs. Gotta turn him into a side arm reliever if he doesn't turn out as a SS
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Rooker is a nice pick here. Why wasn't Rooker more highly regarded? He seems like a f***ing stud muffin, Goldschmidt type hitter.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I really like the Pearson pick!!!!!!
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I really like the Pearson pick!!!!!! Me too
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 OMFG, I just watched Pearson videos and his mechanics are sublime. I mean f***ing perfect. Powerful and clean; impeccable timing. I'm in love. Perhaps another Miguel Castro type arm, except hopefully one that will be given proper time to develop his secondary pitches?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Why wasn't Rooker more highly regarded? He seems like a f***ing stud muffin, Goldschmidt type hitter. It's probably because he's a year older than most juniors, but the power is legit as hell and the bat seems advanced enough that he could be an absolute steal here.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Perhaps another Miguel Castro type arm, except hopefully one that will be given proper time to develop his secondary pitches? As a rule, try to avoid cross-racial comps. It's pretty much cultural appropriation.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Matt Albers is fat Matt Adams is skinny
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Can you guys remind me which board members legitimately know their prospects and which ones are simply full of s***? Thanks.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 As a rule, try to avoid cross-racial comps. It's pretty much cultural appropriation. I can't believe I didn't think of that
metafour Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Landon Leach just went to Minny. Top Canadian HS kid.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 First Canadian off the board. 29th player who played in my tournament to ever get drafted.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Leach seems like a reach. #reach4leach
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I don't have strong feelings about Warmoth but I'm impressed that they were able to read the board and let Pearson fall to them at 28.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 What the f*** happened to the draft. MLB Tonight came on my tv.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Matt Albers is fat Matt Adams is skinny Good point.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Also figure if the Twins didn't pick him, Carlson isn't signing.
