Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 He was probably gone after tonight's game with both Donaldson and Tulo coming back. This sucks. Good for Alford's pocketbook in the short term though. Alfords MLB per diem while on the disabled list may actually pay for his parents new house! ;)
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Still no word as to how this happened? He was fine playing last night......some kind of freak injury/fall afterwards? A lot of these injuries happen on swings.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Anyone else have circus music playing in their head?

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 One would have to work very hard to conjure up a more disappointing season overall than 2017 so far.
jerb Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 The same thing happened to Dalton Pompey. Dalton Pompey Verified account @DaltonPompey Replying to @Wilnerness590 I broke both my hamates. Takes about 6 weeks to heal but your hand feels really weak for sometime after. But everyone's different Dalton Pompey Verified account @DaltonPompey Replying to @Wilnerness590 Ya broke both on the swing, made my hand curl up into a fist. They just remove it but there's a nerve that runs close to it that's affected
Frag Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Might as well have a thread to complain in
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 lots of outrage in this thread, but I have to ask - If Alford never gets his highly unlikely call-up and instead is injured in the minors, is everyone still as mad? Or is all the outrage just because of the extra service time? Personally I am much more annoyed that he might take 2 years to get his power back....

Mostly it just sucks that his year has been stolen by injuries, again.

SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I'm just pissed because in a potentially wasted season, watching prospects try to adjust to majors is the best part...and we can't even have that!

nextyear Verified Member Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Considering how many Blue Jay players have been injured taking mighty swings, maybe it is time to cut down on their swings; they only have to hit it out of the ball park, not hit it 500 feet. If Goins can hit 4 home runs with his swing, then a gargantuan swing is not required.
