Salty might go deep here.

Well if Gruber says it might believe it. You have been on a roll so far this year.

Whoever gave Salty the green light should be out of the organization by tomorrow.

Had Wacha on the ropes with a 20+ pitch inning so far. Salty should have taken the 3-0 pitch with a great chance he'd get another fastball 3-1 or walk.

Gibbons wants to get Salty's bat going but willing to let Pearce rot on the bench

Seriously, where the f*** is Pearce? Most of the team has obviously sucked yet he's the only one who's seemingly out of chances.

If you don't impress Gibbons right out of the gate, he tends to lose faith. Pearce starting out poorly was not good for his playing time. Combine that with Zeke and Smoak actually performing well, and he's glued to the bench. Hope he gets to play at some point.

Sniffing 70 pitches through four innings. What's the Cardinals' pen like?
On paper, it's really good. But that hasn't been the case so far this season (SSS). Bowman and Rosenthal have been pretty lights out, though.

am I greedy for feeling bad that we only scored 2?

No.

But since baseball purists think watching the equivalent of A ball hitting talents hit in a major league lineup is right... cuz history ..... that's what happens.

Nope, in the AL we'd have actually had a chance for a nice rally. NL baseball sucks.

But Madison Bumgarner hits 3 home runs a year and we'd be deprived of that with a league wide DH.

Looks like he'll be used in a platoon / bench role. Isn't that the way he has been primarily used his whole career.
