Holy s***, between the injuries, lack of depth, and age on this roster, this season is straight going to rival 2004.

The trade deadline might be the only thing that saves us.

I agree, but you do not need to write Dumbass. Please be polite.

Frankly, I'm tired of these know-it-all experts who actually know nothing spewing ********. I'm going to call him a dumbass because this is what his opinion is: a dumbass opinion. Myself and anyone else who actually knows baseball knew that this was going to be the outcome the second AA made those moves; it was fun for those 2-3 years watching a winning team, but now we're at the predictable fall and we've got all these idiot "fans" flabbergasted that a team built around past-stars (who are now s***) is going to fall apart at a frightening rate.

Its beyond comical to see these people who spent all offseason crying about how badly we f***ed up by not signing Encarnacion and Fowler fail to realize that both of those "surefire stars" have done dick-all so far this season, which means that we'd actually still be in the same spot right now LOL (actually maybe even worse given that Morales HRs have been the reason we won our only two games of the season). Shapiro and Atkins know what they're doing idiots: they correctly evaluated that the core of our offense was finished, while our starting pitching (the only reason why we even snuck into the playoffs last year) features three starters who are gone in 1-2 years and are at an age where they're likely to start declining anyway which means that bringing them back won't save the team anyway. With that prognosis, your only move is to move forward with a new core.

Looked like he was on the verge of tears.

Probably frustrated beyond belief. He has a real opportunity to play out the year as a 3-4 WAR regular and this slump just comes at the worst time imaginable.

How long before Brook Jacoby gets the axe? Because with the team's performance, he's likely to be the first to be fired, possibly as early as tomorrow's off day.

Reality is, the roster AA built, not Atkins, is close to collapse.. this isn't the first time. Let's not forget the 1995 team.. where the team just collapsed, 2 years after their WS win.. that's actually the closest comparison to this present team..

It might've been better to let Bautista go and take the pick.. because Bautista looks like he's close to done.

Watching the Jays has been hard this year.

Watching it and having seasons tickets that I can barely give away is worse.

And regarding Dexter Fowler--he's done nothing for the Cardinals so far, batting .136/.224/.159, and is on pace to cost Mike Matheny and many of the coaches in St. Louis their jobs(team's only 1 game up on Toronto for the worst record). Don't know if he'd have helped the Jays much.

Yeah he's probably just as shocked as we are that he's been terrible - it's bad enough for us but when he can't understand why it's not working for him it must be so frustrating.

Jays need to start the fire sale soon before more old guys get hurt.

This is the Baseball Gods revenge for keeping the rotation healthy all year in 2016.

Happ with elbow soreness. This 2-10 team is about to add Mat Latos to the roster as a regular member of the rotation. The only good thing about that is we'll get to see him and Gibby fistfight later this year.

It's looking that way.

Wasn't it said that Rogers was behind Bautista's re-signing? If so, the lost pick might sting even more for the front office.

Damn I wish we found a way to trade for Puig back when he was attainable. Too late now.

Happ = left elbow soreness. Could this game have gone any worse?
Best-case scenario it's a flexor tendon strain and he's out roughly two to three weeks or so, which is not a huge deal? Hopefully it's not the UCL, obviously.

Never heard that. Shatkins have full authority to do what they want. Bautista resigning was their idea.

I would've taken the pick all day long.
