He's quite a poor defender overall, he's dabbled a bit at 3B and 2B and the SSS defensive stats are not feeling it.

I don't think any team will claim Zeke at $1mm. Coghlan's a better player than him and he got a minor league deal a day before opening day. I don't think teams are going to line up for Zeke unless they have a huge hole in the OF and just need a body. Maybe the Tigers.

Is this going to be a meme on this board, along with Morales forever? The good/lucky moves have far outweighed any of the bad.

 

Morales, Smoak, Bautista and Coghlan are on this roster now at a combined committed dollars of around $60 million. This time last year there was talk of $100M+ going to Bautista alone. 2/20 for each of Morales and Coghlan would have been reasonable expectations as well. They Jays have come out WAY ahead with this league trend of declining demand for aging vets who play non-premium positions.

He's been a positive outfielder the last two years and hit well (albeit SSS) when he moved out of the Oakland black hole. Good plate discipline, can hit a bit and a good OF - such a good 4OF.
