Looks like they want to get a good look at Tellez - he's seemingly playing everyday no?

 

I'll be at the game in Fort Myers tomorrow v. the Twins. I really want to see Tellez, Alford and Urena start.

They seem committed to Smoak so I wouldn't look much in to it. Probably to give him as many reps as they can against some MLB pitching before having to send him down.

Pearce had off season shoulder surgery and i know they said they were going to take him slow with a longer spring.... I have heard Nothing on Tulo

Pearce is still recovering from injury, so it makes sense why they are easing him into ST. Tulo can do whatever he wants to get ready so I wouldn't worry.

I don't read a lot into Tellez's playing time, but it's nice to see that they're giving him a lot of experience this spring. The only way I see him making the team out of spring training is if he hits .400 and Smoak his .025, and even then I highly doubt he'd make the club without someone else going down with an injury. But regardless of that, I'm not super high on having prospects skip AAA entirely so I'd rather he start the year in Buffalo regardless of his spring training numbers. If he goes to Buffalo and has an awesome April, then maybe give him a callup in May if the right opportunity arises.

Dalton Pompey is THE biggest reason to watch the WBC.

 

That article says he weighs 210 now - holy moly.

I'd be looking into an extension right now if I were the GM. With Estrada also a free agent, it makes a lot of sense to seriously explore it with at least one of them.

Nah I'd rather play out the season with both of them. Estrada won't want to leave and Liriano loves throwing to Martin. I don't see either getting 3+ years.

It's incredible how shortsighted people are when a player has one bad season. Forgetting that Bautista had an incredible season not even 2 years ago.
