Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Looks like they want to get a good look at Tellez - he's seemingly playing everyday no? I'll be at the game in Fort Myers tomorrow v. the Twins. I really want to see Tellez, Alford and Urena start.

Probably to give him as many reps as they can against some MLB pitching before having to send him down. Have fun man!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 So Tulo and Pearce are already dead.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 So Tulo and Pearce are already dead. Pearce had off season shoulder surgery and i know they said they were going to take him slow with a longer spring.... I have heard Nothing on Tulo
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 So Tulo and Pearce are already dead. Pearce is still recovering from injury, so it makes sense why they are easing him into ST. Tulo can do whatever he wants to get ready so I wouldn't worry.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 FFS why isn't Pompey getting more ABs
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Is this game on TV? I know it's on MLB Network but they usually block out all Blue Jays games
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 FFS why isn't Pompey getting more ABs Don't know ... Dalton Pompey impresses in spring debut with Blue Jays http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/dalton-pompey-impresses-spring-debut-blue-jays/
BJBirdy Verified Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I don't read a lot into Tellez's playing time, but it's nice to see that they're giving him a lot of experience this spring. The only way I see him making the team out of spring training is if he hits .400 and Smoak his .025, and even then I highly doubt he'd make the club without someone else going down with an injury. But regardless of that, I'm not super high on having prospects skip AAA entirely so I'd rather he start the year in Buffalo regardless of his spring training numbers. If he goes to Buffalo and has an awesome April, then maybe give him a callup in May if the right opportunity arises.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Dalton Pompey is THE biggest reason to watch the WBC. That article says he weighs 210 now - holy moly.

Yeah it`s very hard to see Tellez making the team out of spring training but I hope he plays great

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Francisco throwing some filth. Here's hoping he has a monster season in a contract year.

I'd be looking into an extension right now if I were the GM. With Estrada also a free agent, it makes a lot of sense to seriously explore it with at least one of them.

Estrada won't want to leave and Liriano loves throwing to Martin. I don't see either getting 3+ years.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Bautista is destroying Baseballs. Still one of my favorite quotes of all time: Jose Bautista came up and murdered a baseball dead, and now there are no more baseballs because they are all scared and hiding. It was a three-run homer, putting the Blue Jays up, 6-3.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Tellez 0-2, but in some very good AB's.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Bautista is destroying Baseballs. Something to prove this year. Could hit 40-50 Homeruns Would shut up a lot of people here.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Tellez 0-2, but in some very good AB's. Yeah can't argue with that last at bat. Worked a full count and drove it to deep LF
Ray Verified Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Something to prove this year. Could hit 40-50 Homeruns Would shut up a lot of people here. It's incredible how shortsighted people are when a player has one bad season. Forgetting that Bautista had an incredible season not even 2 years ago.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Pillar has a good head on his shoulders. Yet another reason why I see a BREAKOUT YEAR coming up for the kid.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Pillar sounds not dumb. It's one thing to say it and another thing to do it. For people not watching. Pillar just said he's no longer focused on how many hits he gets. Just trying to get on base anyway he can.
