Price hasn't been a good fit in Boston. And also he seems to be having persistent arm issues. But he could be a fantastic buy-low candidate for the Jays. Especially if his arm is just tweaked and not really injured.

The BoSox need a SP for 2017, and are shopping around now. Maybe Estrada or Liriano work. Prolly Estrada because the Sox have so many lefties. And what if part of our asking price was Price.

The Jays don't have a lot of SP on the farm, and two of five are FAs after 2017. Price is a much-needed lefty and seemed to be a good fit here.

I am not sure if the BoSox would eat a lot of salary. I am not even sure you can trade a player who's on the DL. But it's something I find interesting.

LMAO f*** that.

If we wanted to keep Price we could have offered him $30million a year when he was still at his peak. We decided (rightly IMO) that it wasn't worth it.

2 years later (including a year of injury problems), it would make even less sense to acquire him now.

Most people didn't want anything to do with that contract when his elbow was healthy man...

Back when the wild card team got a 5 game series, and you didn't have to play the AL East winner, the division title meant so much less..

I like this way better

I think I agree. I've always thought the MLB playoffs should be as exclusive as possible, but I think the accomplishment of landing a division title is absolutely worth watering down the Wild Card spot somewhat (plus it's nice that middling markets don't dwindle in August too).

There are downsides, though, like when two Wild Card teams are better than the other divisional winners (see: 2015 NL) and are forced to do the one-game cage match. But the arrangement overall is way more good than bad in my eyes.

Tulo has ligament damage in right ankle. Likely done for the season.

Great even more Goins...

I'd like to see some prospects called up at this point. Give Alford and Gurriel a chance to get ready for a mlb role next year.

Seeing Alford in the OF alongside of Pillar will be so enjoyable compared to the slugs we employ in the corners.

I hope they at least give a hard look at Refsynder until that time. Great news tho, I thought he would be done for the year.

Doesn't look like it. Barney is starting for a second straight day despite another RHP on the mound.

No thread on the ticket price increase or has it been combined with the larger clusterfk threads.

There's a discussion in the normal ticket thread.

Don't know if this was posted, but I thought it was worth a look.

I was just beginning a love affair with the Jays (85 East Champs), soon followed by my first real crushing collapse (f$!#* Tigers!!) I used to love seeing Cardinals highlights on George Michael's Sports Machine and listening to Tom and Jerry on the radio. I found out about the Carter/Alomar trade the next morning while walking past a Toronto Sun box!

He's right though... Barfield through Bautista it hasn't changed much except for some added cynicism.

Is there any chance Borucki has earned himself a September start (or sooner) with last nights outing? Dude is crushing AA.

Imagine the outrage if BLM and Twitter existed back in those days. Black man gets arrested for killing white bird.
