Based upon defense alone he is passable in CF though some think he could be at least average there if not better. But his arm which rates at a 45 on the 20/80 scale makes him more suited for LF over anywhere else.

 

Thanks Term. What can he be offensively? I like his swing, he's athletic, bit of speed, bit of pop and good plate discipline. It's a quality package.

To fix Blue Jays 2nd baseman problem why not target Ryan Schimpf? Padres put him in AAA and might be had for cheap. Has some serious pop and decent defense at 2nd. Getting BABIP f***ed since the start of the season too... Edited by MunenoriKawasakiMVP

I'm sure that has nothing to do with his attempt to finish the season with the highest FB% in MLB history...

His defense at 2nd is terrible. -9DRS in 580 innings last year with a -11UZR/150.

 

His BABIP is always going to be lower than average with his extreme FB approach. Have to think the Jays don't want him if they already gave him away.

0.1 dwar this year he's not great obviously but it's not like he is bad either. And there is no way he keeps a ,145 BABIP. He is probably a ,180-,200 BABIP hitter with all of his but no one is that bad to bat a ,145 BABIP. No one. Also the Jays gave him away when he sucked. Take this year's OPS and last year's OPS, average it, and you've pretty much got what a sustainable Schimpf stats would be.

Tulo is definitely having some mechanical problems with his swing.

 

He's barely striking out (well below his career rate, actually) and his BB% is steady with the last two seasons. But...

 

His GB% is a career high.

His FB% is a career low.

His GB/FB ratio is a career high (obviously).

His LD% is a career low.

His Infield Fly % is a career high, and an alarming 16.7%. It seems like he pops out all the f***ing time.

 

Making contact but hitting weak ground balls and pop ups. He's Kevin Pillar.

 

I'm almost certain it's mechanical. He probably needs to make some kind of adjustment like McCutchen just made a month ago. It's time for a lesson from the team's best hitters, JD and Smoak.

Oh yea was he just getting an off day?

 

I believe they knew JD was labouring a bit so they put him at DH and just didnt have room for Morales with Smoak at first.

Too early to know. If they are close to contention there's no chance they will trade JD at the deadline.

Red Sox say they are going to trade for a 3B before the trade deadline.....is it time to trade Donaldson or wait until the offseason?

 

The Red Sox already gave up their farm. Unless Mookie is coming back (lol) Im not giving the MVP to the Red Sox
