If Martin can't start tonight they may as well place him on the DL retroactive to the last time he played. We are going to need to pinch hit for Maile this road trip and having 1 available catcher really sucks.

Yeah the 10 day list is kinda nice

At this point, I can't really argue against the injury prone comments.

Leone gets the call. Wouldn't mind seeing him eat a couple of innings if possible and then get sent down for Leblejian.

It would certainly be nice to see what we have in Leb because i feel like Travis to the DL a couple times/year may be something we need to get used to/accept.

Great use of the 10 day DL. Smart to double check his knee. Might have came back too soon after all.

Travis is not injury prone and it is beyond idiotic to say so. Still 1 injury in his career.

Sounds like he's going to be out longer than a month the way they are saying it. Welcome to another summer of a Goins/Barney platoon.

Ughhh... who's saying it?

This. But you can all but assume it's the barney/goins show now. Barney needs to get going

What happened to Pearce? Haven't heard anything since he went on the DL. Did he tear his calf or was it just a strain?

Tore it... he has no timetable. This sucks.

Tue, May 30

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Steve Pearce (calf) is at least another 2-3 weeks away.

Advice: Pearce was sent to the Blue Jays' spring training complex earlier this month but apparently isn't doing much in the way of baseball activity at the moment. He landed on the disabled list May 15 with a right calf strain. Don't expect to see him back before mid-June.

Travis apparently had tears in his eyes during his media session and said it isn't as bad as last year but the pain is pretty similar. Christ sounds like he could be done for the season. Jays really need a 2nd baseman.
