Looks like he sealed it. Pretty impressive against that strong Diamondbacks lineup.

Faced the minimum, threw a Maddux, did it all on Yordano's birthday.

All things considered, one of the best no hitters ever thrown.

Astros have won 9 straight

First team to 40 wins this year

Is everything just going right for them ??

Their offense is covering up problems with their SP quality and depth

Astros are a strong potential buyer for a rental starter at the deadline (including Estrada / Liriano).

Not like anyone here predicted that he could be good...oh wait.....
I think most people here thought he could be good. But I don't understand why you're bragging about this. For you to save face, he has to become the Mike Trout of pitchers lol.

Nah..just better than some of the players I didn't want to trade him for. Bryant might be the hardest to catch, McCutchen he already is better than imo. Those are two of the main ones I remember. I know it's still early, but it's always fun to point it out while he is doing good...until he probably gets lit up some in Coors lol

So you wouldn't do Kris Bryant for Hoffman straight up?

Heck no

Yep, I'd even trade Hoffman and Norris for Sonny Gray.

Truly awe inspiring. Please brag more about how right you are.

He also wouldn't have traded Hoffman for:

Bryce Harper

Anthony Rizzo

Freddie Freeman

Corey Seager

Francisco Lindor

Carlos Correa

Manny Machado

He would have "entertained" Mike Trout, though, so there's that.

Also said multiple times if we were trading him it needed to be for a pitcher (wanted it for Cueto the most). Had no room for a 3B. There is logic in the reasoning. Not that he was better than those players...but it wasn't a good trade for the team. This isn't fantasy baseball and it would take more than him to get those players.

Also...at least I was adamant trading Vlad for McCutchen was the stupidest idea ever!!!!!

There is simply 0 defense for not trading Hoffman for any of those guys. If they don't fill a need, flip them for something else or make them play a different position. In Bryant's case, he could have played LF and 3B when needed. Bryce would be our RF. Those were and still are positions of need.

"at least" nothing. You don't get any breaks for saying something that retarded.

It wasn't all dumb and I still stand behind most of it. I was wrong with Bryant, I will admit that. Don't remember Bryce but yeah that was dumb if I said it. We didn't need much offense at the time in win now mode. We needed pitching. Some of what I said was stupid but some still holds true and accurate. Above all, my analysis of Hoffman has been really accurate...which very few will give me credit for...so yeah I will brag some when I can lol

Who was disagreeing with you? Just because people said it's dumb that you wouldn't deal Hoffman for literally any offensive player aside from maybe Trout, doesn't mean they didnt think Hoffman had a lot of potential. I'm certainly glad to see him start realizing it.

Vast majority of people were from memory...not saying you were but a lot were, especially when his K numbers were low.
