You did...

Your the same idiot who tweets to athletes after they post a pic saying "Quit tweeting out pics, and go work on pitching"

FYI, i've never been linked to social media, ever. No accounts , no nothing. No time or patience for s*** like that. Not my thing.

You would fit in well on the Blue Jays facebook page.

Making bold statements about topics you admittedly know nothing about doesn't usually work out well.

Stroman had a 3.41 xFIP and 3.71 FIP this year, Biagini can very easily do worse than that.

Stroman's xFIP this year was even better in the second half, once he stopped with the stupid approach. 3.01 xFIP with ~4:1 k/bb.

I can't really come around to Fowler. He's a good two way player but he's not a complete player and for most of his career he's been just an average OF.

The combination of his talent, skill-set, probable contract, and the associated pick sacrifice just don't make me happy.

I haven't posted here in about a month, but as soon as i just express an opinion, it turns into this.

Later kids, have at it.

Well, your opinion was absolutely terrible.

Yup pretty much this.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair. He put up ghastly defensive numbers in 2012 and 2014, but was approximately average defensively the last 2 years (definitely seems to have improved, or was fighting injury those other years). If you give him average defensive numbers those other years, he's probably 3 to 3.5 war in both, maybe a tad higher.

For suggesting a trade for Eaton involving Stroman and a prospect instead of signing Fowler?

No, the "Biagini should be as good as Stroman" part.

Sorry, my point being I think you can make a case that the last 2 years didn't just come out of nowhere, but have really been roughly the norm for the last 5.

For saying its safe to assume Biagini will be better than Stroman.

It's JMO guys.. You guys need to relax a little.

I just don't like Stroman as along term SP solution, that's all. Leave it at that.

I'd agree with you if the Jays weren't going to get two picks from losing Bautista and Encarnacion. He's probably not a player you lose a pick for, but with two extra picks, and an impending OF of Pompey, Upton, and Carrera, with a s***** as hell free agent market, I'd probably make an exception.

I read a good article on fangraphs regarding his defense. If you think it's average or good you have a good chance to get surplus value and lots of it on 4 years, 70 mil. If his defense is below average, you can probably break about even on that 70 mil. Not sure that the article factored in the pick though.

It wasn't worded as an opinion though. "I believe", and "it's safe to assume" are miles apart in this scenario.

I really don't give a s*** about losing a 1st rd pick in the late 20s. Sign me up for Fowler.

The max I'd give him is 4/$80, but I don't think Shatkins would give him that. I'll reserve judgement until I see the money involved, but I think he's a good fit as a player.

I agree with giving one up for Fowler, but we've had some pretty good picks in the late 1st, sandwich in the recent past with Stroman, Sanchez, Beede (even though he didn't sign), Syndergaard, etc. It's not like the quality of player you can get is inconsequential.

We'll still have at least one and probably two picks within that range. Give me the WAR now while we have Donaldson.

At anything like 4/64 I'm all in on Fowler. The bat is above average, he adds runs on the bases, and I don't think it's likely that he's a bad corner OF defender.

Imagine if he manages to hone in on his pitch usage and effectiveness from July and August? He would be a monster.

Nah... it was this...

Of course he can, but it's safe to assume Biagini will match Stroman's numbers over the next three years easily.

So are we going to bet?

The WhiteSox want to move several more expensive pieces like Abreu at first base. Shatikins were willing to take on a salary dump in Liriano to land two prospects for Hutch (and Liriano turned it around as well).

So if the Jays were interested in Eaton - to lower our cost in prospects we might have to eat one if not two contracts(Abreu and Melky). Thus, it may not cost us one of our starting 5 - perhaps you can package a Pillar or a Travis. The problem with this is that Abreu isn't really a bad contract and Melky at $15million did have an .800OPS and was a 2.6 WAR player.

If you get Eaton back AND you sign Fowler and you have Abreu you can probably live with a defensive only 2b in Barney/Goins

The interesting thing is that Chicago seems to offer us a lot of our needs. Eaton can hit in center and is a lefty bat. Abreu replaces EE for vastly less money at first base and he can hit righties or lefties - no need for platoons. Melky plays left weakly but no worse than JB - another switch hitter who can hit. And Flowler in RF switch hitter.

1) Fowler (S)

2) Eaton (L)

3) Donaldson ®

4) Morales (S)

5) Abreu ®

6) Melky (S)

7) Tulo ®

8) Martin ®

9) Goins/Barney (L/R)

As the saying goes you can never have too much pitching and giving up on Stroman this early isn't a great plan (see Syndergaard). We're going to be haunted by that and I really don't want a second one coming back to make us regret.

On the other hand you have to give something to get something so if you make Stroman the centerpiece with Pillar and you keep Devon Travis then the 9 hole looks awesome - and if you replace Stroman by signing a Rich Hill then you're covered. Or dare I say you make it a massive EPIC blockbuster and you include Chris Sale - Bwahahaha. Then you have:

To Toronto

Eaton

Abreu

Melky

Sale

To Chicago

Stroman

Pillar

Travis

Alford

Davis

SRF

Tellez

Zeuch

Pentacost
