Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I want to see the Cubs win so there's potential for Grant to go apeshit. Why does he hate the cubs, exactly?
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Why does he hate the cubs, exactly? Because Theo Epstein.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I'd rather see the Cubs win, not because Cleveland beat the Jays. .. but because I'd like that franchise's fanbase to have something, considering the last time they were even in a World Series game was 1945, and theres probably very few of their fans left alive that saw that.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 J4L19 and I are putting up our $240 we will win in a contest if you can give us the time of date, time and second the Cubs finish them off. 1 entry per contestant and only posters above 20000 posts are eligible. I knew I should have posted 'Go Jays Go' in the GDT thread a lot more.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I have always wanted to see the Cubs win a World Series, but now that it's close I'm kinda rooting for something crazy to happen that makes people say, Christ they really are cursed... I want the myth to live on! I feel the Cubs will steam roll Cleveland, but I also thought that the Jays would win easily. I say Cubs in 6, but hoping lightening strikes just as Baez is about to make the final out in game 7 causing him to make an error and Cleveland to win in a walk off.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Why does he hate the cubs, exactly? Because he doesn't like the greatest front office mind this sport has ever seen.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Because Theo Epstein. Durr, right. Can't believe I overlooked the fact that yes, a storied franchise filled with talented, likable players might break a century old drought, but it was cobbled together by a guy who worked for Boston like 5 years ago. Too bad Illinois doesn't have the death penalty. Working for the Red Sox should get one the chair.
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Didn't that guy the blue jays just hire work for the Red Sox? Cheryl Bennington or something

Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Cubs in 1 inning. Indians forfeit. Kenny lofton will be throwing out first pitch tomorrow, Carlos baerga next. Indians fans seemed to want lebron to do it but isn't he a Yankees fan at least while they were winning anyway?
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Schwarbs is back. The Cubs are doing what JG34 did not.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 The Cubs are doing what JG34 did not. Damn. Roasted.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I hope the Indians win solely to extend the curse, that would be too funny. Kipnis has a good chance of missing game 1 from an ankle injury he sustained celebrating in game 5 of the ALCS (lol). Salazar is back though and if I had to guess how he will be used it'll probably be alongside Clevinger or Ryan "JAYS SLAYER" Merritt for the eventual bullpen game.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I just read 4 tickets (row 5 behind home plate) to Game 4 Saturday night in Wrigley sold for $64,000 on stubhub. Damn. (I also don't know what JG34 is - right over my head).

(I also don't know what JG34 is - right over my head). JG34 (formerly JaysGuy34) made the BBDL forum league championship as the 8th seed in 2015 and left Kyle Schwarber in the minors the entire playoffs. Was a puzzling move to say the least.
