FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Great to see these two teams compete. I think the Cubs roll them in 5.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Is Salazar back?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Is Salazar back? Francona hinted at it being possible, same goes for Schwarber with the Cubs. I'm hoping this WS goes long... 7 games, with the Cubs edging out the Tribe in extras.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Odd coincidence? Creator of Cubs 'curse' died on Oct. 22, Cubs win pennant Oct. 22 CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs have won the pennant for the first time since 1945, and now they'll endeavor to win the World Series for the first time since way, way back yonder in 1908. What's behind that? Cruel randomness, serialized misfortune, and occasional lousiness. Mythos, though, would have it that something darker has prevented the Cubs from reaching the pinnacle of the sport for lo these many years. As you're surely aware and has been amply chronicled every time the Cubs do anything of note, William "Billy Goat" Sianis, a Greek immigrant to Chicago and tavern owner of some local renown, cursed the Cubs when he and his pet goat were refused admittance to Game 4 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field ... The story goes that Sianis was so miffed by this treatment that he declared the Cubs would never again win the World Series. In one of the great causation-correlation errors in history, that has indeed been the case. As long as we're indulging in the nonexistent and the supernatural, let's point out something -- two things, actually. On Oct. 22, 2016, the Cubs clinched their first pennant since around the time of Sianis' legendary tantrum. Yep, Billy Sianis, author of the curse, passed away 46 years ago Saturday night -- the night the Cubs won the pennant.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Rooting for the Cubbies, but betting on the Indians.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 A real shame we can't see game 6 and 7 played at Wrigley Field simply because of some stupid Allstar game
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 A real shame we can't see game 6 and 7 played at Wrigley Field simply because of some stupid Allstar game Hopefully the final game with be at Wrigley when the Indians sweep them.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Bartman has all his fingers and toes crossed...
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Schwarber is going to become a legend
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 I want to see the Cubs win so there's potential for Grant to go apeshit.
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Will the Cubs fans take back the forgiving of bartman after they get swept?
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Read an article the average secondary ticket for game 3 is $6,000? Can't be right? How much are the tickets actually buying from the team? Imagine the team actually making $300,000,000 at the gate from one playoff game. Even if tickets are averaging at $800 for season ticket holders or whoever else, the playoff shares would be affected by Cubs charging so much for tickets right ?
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 I honestly see the cubs rolling and winning in 5. But a good 7 gamer would be exciting.
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Are members allowed to bet with each other here? Anybody want to take a bet that Indians win from me? What's the odds like +160? If there is any reputable mods or something to escrow money to?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 A real shame we can't see game 6 and 7 played at Wrigley Field simply because of some stupid Allstar game The Indians are winning so it's fitting that 6 and 7 would be at home
