Laika Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 You've been a self declared winner in every argument with me. Stupid and witty has always trumped intelligent and mature on message boards. I bow to your greatness. Well I'm objectively funnier AND smarter. Everybody agrees. I have the best jokes; the biggest brains.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 5 pitchers in one inning? Wow
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 You've been a self declared winner in every argument with me. You realize you do this all of the time too, right?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 This sucks, hate the Giants but would have loved if they knocked off the Cubs. What the hell? Why
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I guess Casilla's dead to Bochy...
Mkdaman1818 Verified Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 The fact the Giants didn't pick up Miller, Melancon, or Chapman at the deadline is a farce. Can't believe they missed out on upgrading their s*** pen
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 why is chapman not happy?
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Hope Cubs lose in NLCS though. Don't want them to face the Jays in the WS ;)
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 why is chapman not happy? He beat the Giants, now he wants to beat the Giants.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 What the hell? Why I'm guessing since the Cubs are heavy favorites, some people would rather root for the underdogs
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I'm guessing since the Cubs are heavy favorites, some people would rather root for the underdogs How can you root against a team that hasn't won in over a century? With no real unlikeable players? (Ok maybe Lackey and Chapman are douches but that's it)
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I'm guessing since the Cubs are heavy favorites, some people would rather root for the underdogs I wouldn't mind if the Jays go into the WS as underdogs at all frankly (if they get past the Indians of course).
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 can't imagine how expensive it would be to pick up tickets in chicago for that series. $2000 usd

King Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 So, Grant thinks the Giants are a straight up better team than the Cubs? Or that the Cubs are a better team than the Giants but the Giants are a better "post-season" team due to their recent WS rings?

Try contributing something of substance to the discussion instead of attributing false statements to people and fishing for a response.

Isn't that what the basis of this whole argument is? - The Cubs are unarguably the better team than the Giants - You would rather face the Cubs, because the Giants playoff track record is "legit" I think we'd have a better chance of beating the Cubs. The Giants playoff track record is legit.

Njh thinks it is and I think it isn't. What side are you on? Let's hear your answer with no stupid comment. Yes it is or no it isn't. Why? What we know about the Giants postseason teams is that Bumgarner is a horse that can single handedly win a series with his endurance and performance. When the series is a virtual coin flip, I'd rather not face him. The way they utilize him is a 'legit' advantage in my opinion. Not all pitchers can do that.

By my understanding, NJH does not care about the Cubs win/loss record in the regular season. He's looking at the talent level of the team, which is stacked to the brim and quite a bit better than the Giants.
