Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Bautista over Saunders RF? Honestly, they both suck at fielding.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Bautista over Saunders RF? Yes?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I'm happy with this lineup. I would swap Martin and Tulo but other than that, it's exactly what I would have written out. Good job Gibby. Lets WIN
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I am going to say Jose and EE have a big game today and Tulo comes up clutch. Let's f***ing get this and then take down those ass pelican Texas Rangers!
SweetSmellingChacin Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Ya, Tulo should've been put ahead of Martin in the lineup a while ago.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Honestly, they both suck at fielding. The downside to it is if they want Upton as a late inning fielding replacement he has to replace Bautista's bat and place in the lineup rather than Saunders. Upton in the PR-DH role for Saunders is just a waste of a spot. Other than that the line-up and roster is about as good as it can be.

bowld Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 We just need the bats to show up today. If we only score 2-4 runs we will lose. Need to put up 5 or more to win

That's not that big a factor with all the spare outfielders they are carrying (Upton, Carrera, Pompey).
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Lets go jays we need our big bats that is a no brainer pillar, martin, and travis will be the key! Lets go
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Fact: Good teams have good catchers, and not a revolving door.
mtljaysfan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Biggest game of the season! Go jays go!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Not sure if anyone has posted the lineup yet but there it is. No surprised other than Bautista playing the field and Saunders DHing which I mentioned as preferring yesterday.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 It appears that it was a collaborative franchise decision. FO and the analytics department were also involved. I think it was, but Gibby was given the final say from Shapiro and Atkins. The analytics team could have yelled Liriano til their blue in the face but it was always Gibby's call. Shapiro is just trying to spread the blame to protect Gibby and the organization.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Both anxious and excited. Go Jays!!!

You have no idea if that's true or not. The analytics department could have suggested Stroman.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 That's not that big a factor with all the spare outfielders they are carrying (Upton, Carrera, Pompey). It is if you want to keep Bautista's bat in the line up while improving your defense in a tight lead scenario late in the game. Anyways, I'm kind of picking at straws because I'm pumped for 3-4 hours from now. Let's hope the Jays win this 8-0 and none of this nitpicking will matter.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 The O's lineup is so deadly. Man we could have taken their highest obp guy right out by starting the right pitcher

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If its a 1 run lead in the 9th and Bautista was due up next inning I think you have to keep him in there otherwise you could get screwed if the Os tie the game and have Upton due up next.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think Bautista is a better defender than Saunders. Saunders is just brutal. So is Bautista but he has made some alright plays lately, particularly while running back toward the wall. Late in the game it could present a problem with substituting Bautista out like everyone said but I think the small upgrade at defense is worth it.

No, you put the better defense in the field. A Bautista mistake in the field can easily be more damaging than the potential value he might bring at the plate.

I think we'd be f***ed late in the game anyway if we're down in the 9th lol.

BlueJays Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 f***ing excited on this game. Let's go Jays
