Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If you want to get jacked before the game, just the watch the bottom of the 7th vs Texas last year. Still have that whole game saved onto an external HDD. Gonna keep that one forever

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I havent seen that throwback helmet hit ever That's because he didn't the helmet.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think we'd be f***ed late in the game anyway if we're down in the 9th lol. True, But you have to figure that Britton is long overdue for a poor outing. At least that's my secondary prayer. My first is that our bats show up and its a non issue. Aside from flipping Tulo and Martin I think Gibby posted the best line up possible.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Downside is if Jose is replaced for defense late and lead is blown you lose his bat.
Rustyraven Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Big problem with Stro start is it allows Kim to hit, Trumbo to def. not play field, Bourn to play, etc. Yeah, sure subs can be made post-Liarano but man, imagine if game starts with Kim hit to RF, etc. I get the feeling Francisco will be in by fifth but that may be too late. This is the strongest Orioles lineup, at least compared to one facing Francisco. Go Jays...eeeek

Go Jays...eeeek It sounds like we're betting on getting those guys out early and hoping they get subbed out, vs our bullpen facing them late in high leverage situations. I'd bet on the starters over bullpen facing those guys, so not totally bummed about the move.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 2 1/2 hours. Just took a few nerve pills so they will be kicked in by then.

A stupid slap hit misplayed in field, etc followed by hit will suck life out of the stadium. I can just see Orioles aiming for Joey Bats in field
bronson44 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 In my experience, the playoff threads are more fun to moderate than the regular ones. During the season, most of the tension is between long time posters and assigning blame can be thorny because there's usually an escalation of things that goes back really far. In the playoffs, it's mostly new posters popping up and causing s*** which is easier to deal with than ongoing board politics. You ban a few, tell the rest to f*** off and get on with things. The regular posters tend to behave because much like the players themselves they don't want to get ejected when the stakes are highest. Glad you'll be around. All I ask is you do your best to keep the "shoulda been Liriano" noise to a minimum if this goes sideways on Stroman. We'll all pretty much be thinking it at that point so we won't need it harped on throughout the game.

Of course that was sucky, suckier Tillman

CBlake Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 The vibe around the dome is already electric !! But man my nerves are in shambles. Have a diehard friend who has refused to come out, even with his parents having 200 level club seats behind home plate. Figure he will be sitting in a dimly lit room on his treadmill with the game on to keep things in check.

polar bear Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 We should probably sub Goins for Travis. I was hoping for Goins starting, and Travis DH'ing.with Saunders on the bench.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I was hoping for Goins starting, and Travis DH'ing.with Saunders on the bench. One team that Saunders has hit well against is the O's and with a RHP on the bump Gibby had to get his bat in the line up. Travis made some great plays on D in BOS under a lot of pressure. I'm good with Gibbys line up.
