o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Easy Peasy... bring on whomever, f*** Ya's!!! it would be nice if the jays could get a little help, but they haven't helped themselves so much this month. Bats looked really good today. some great quality AB from the whole lineup. Bats have underachieved for weeks. would be awesome timing if they could collectively go on a roll for the next month

glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Astros blowing it in the 9th, but every other WC candidate has won (Detroit, Baltimore, Seattle). That Baltimore series next week might decide one WC spot. The Tigers look like a pretty safe bet to get the other one.

Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Didn't we allready get beat by Boyd?? Do you want to face Fulmer instead?? Even Norris is pitching well. At this point is there really that much difference between any of Estrada, Happ, Sanchez, Fulmer, Verlander, and even Norris?? Other than the Irony if Norris and/or Boyd somehow screwed us?? The wild card game is a coin flip, and there are still coin flips to get to the coin flip Boston Red Sox: We will build around youth, Bib Papi has served us well and deserves to go out on top, the only way to do that is to surround him with good young players. AA and the Beast: f*** the young players, I hate them, youth must die, trade em all for a bat flip and a coin toss! I find I enjoy baseball (and life for that matter) when I try to find the positives in a situation. You on the other hand enjoy being a miserable prick.

They've got 4 games against Cleveland (who have destroyed the Tigers this year) and 3 against the Braves (who have been playing well lately). Also 2 more against KC

You on the other hand enjoy being a miserable prick. I am truly dissapointed in the direction of the organization since 2012, I grew up watching Jays teams that were much more like this years Sox or Astros, awesome young position players. It would be an ironic kick in the balls if the Tigers beat us out, using young players we traded to them just last year. Just saying... sorry if I insulted you.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I wouldn't say the Tigers are a lock. They've got 4 games against Cleveland (who have destroyed the Tigers this year) and 3 against the Braves (who have been playing well lately). Also 2 more against KC Interesting situation for Cleveland. If they split the first two games against Detroit they probably have the division wrapped up (if not before then). Does Cleveland then take it easy the final two games given a. they can get their players well rested and b. knowing how well they have played against Detroit, they give them a bit of help to get them into the playoffs?

I don't mean to be a miserable prick. I am just pointing out the irony here. After all the ******** you hear about how you need vets, and an ace and f***ing whatever else The tigers are doing it with an old former ace with a bit of fumes left and a young staff (Fulmer, Norris, Boyd) acquired just a year ago..

We have dealt a lot of pitching prospects to get JD, Tulo and Price as a rental. But if we don't have that electric post season 2015 maybe we don't lead the league in attendance and carry so much interest this year, and into 2017. I think Rogers and mgm know they need to invest enough to carry this momentum and good competitive product on the field is the most important factor. We have developed Stro, Osuna and Sanchez who are young and controllable premium assets. Norris and Boyd have pitched well, but Norris has also battled injuries and who knows what they become. I never heard anyone fapping about Boyd when we had him. Being nauseous over guys once we deal them can be natural to do, but its just negative energy. If I sell a stock, I take it off my watch list and try to just move on.

We get it. You're a big fan of building from within and not trading prospects. You've made that apparent. You must've hated watching Bautista's bat flip last year.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Then you weren't reading very closely. Boyd was pretty highly regarded. That's very possible King. I stand to be corrected. I didn't notice that. Where was he ranked? I read the minor league reports you have posted but I don't follow nearly as closely. I watched his starts for us but that's about it. I remember his first one pretty well. He pitched decently, with some bad luck.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Without those trades last year there is no iconic Bautista moment. 2nd most memorable HR in franchise history is worth giving up Norris, Boyd and all those prospects without a doubt. You could argue those trades weren't great at the time with the team being 6 games back but looking back on it they worked out amazing.
