Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Their entire history is built on lie, cheat, and steal. It's hard to get away from that attitude. I don't think we need to make this a nationality issue. American teams have been victimized by Joyce's ineptitude as well.
4thOFan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 They have no pitching in the majors or minors. Id be shocked if they make the playoffs next year with Ortiz gone. Yep, no pitching at all. Have only had one of the best pitching in the league the past 6 weeks or so. Price, Porcello, Pomeranz, Rodriguez locked up for multiple years. No pitching at all.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Nah, the worst time to get cold would be in the upcoming week or two. Despite this slump the Jays have more than enough time to get back on track and win the division. If we played like August we'd have a 5 game division lead and could afford to go cold.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Good thing they have loaded farm system to play with Loaded? It's below average without Benintendi and Moncada.

4thOFan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Grant is still butthurt the Red Sox will always be a superior team than his Blue Jays.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 If we played like August we'd have a 5 game division lead and could afford to go cold. The panic would be a lot worse watching a lead slip away in the final two weeks rather than now when we have time to right the ship.
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 This game was painful. Tulo tried his best to win the game for the team. Well and EE. Bullpen was awful. JD and Joey Bats were no where to be seen. Sure hope Jays don't sign Joey in off season.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 If we played like August we'd have a 5 game division lead and could afford to go cold. But if we play starting tomorrow like August then we'll take the divison. We face the Bosox one more time and they face the O's and Yanks a bunch of times. Out of the next 10 games we need to take 6 or 7 at least before we go for a day off
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I'm not sure if my eyes were playing tricks with me, but the one angle seemed to show the ball the entire way and it seemed to hit fair. It's just the way it bounced that made it look like it was off the side but it looked like it went off the inside of the foul pole, not the side which caused the ball to bounce the way it did.
over500 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Loaded? It's below average without Benintendi and Moncada. Of course their farm's gonna take a hit without their 2 best prospects. Point was that, they still have a lot of assets.
jiminy Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 On a positive note the jays avoided the sweep
jiminy Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Boston has a seemingly unlimited budget. The ate the big contract of that big useless panda sandoval and it didn't even bother them

Boston has financial limits..

Kopech and Groome are too far off, and most of their prospects after those three don't project as MLB regulars.

ComeTogether Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Sucks to lose, but it was an entertaining game.

TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Bautista's really looking old out there. His bat speeds definitely not what it used to be. Poor dudes played his way right out of a huge contract. He's probably at the age where he's too old to bother signing a 1 year contract in hopes that he can put up a big year too.

I'd qualify both Saunders and Bautista. The risk is limited. 1 year only Upside is there EE is as good as gone
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 great game to watch...some of our key guys didn't bring it tonight...Jays and Red Sox are close in terms of talent so close it is a coin flip IMO
justafan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Why would you give Saunders $16.7m? I'd qualify both Saunders and Bautista. The risk is limited. 1 year only Upside is there EE is as good as gone
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Why would you give Saunders $16.7m? He is going to be worth 2 WAR this year, that aint bad. If they both accept, I'd DH Bautista and LF Saunders, and go into the year There is a chance neither accept.
justafan Verified Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I think he has really gone downhill since the AS break. That's all. Even the pitch to Ortiz seemed good, though I question going inside on him at all. They didn't walk many and had 9 K's in 5 1/3 innings of work. Really it was Sanchez that f***ed us from the get go.

I don't know, maybe it's because the Red Sox were 1 game up coming in but they looked as cool as a cucumber the entire game, even when they were down. Our entire team looked like they were "trying too hard".
