So the series in Seattle seems to be the edge of the cliff for the Jays in my brow beaten opinion. Lose two games or dare I say it get swept and they are done as the Mariners will at least tie the jays or move ahead in the WC......If I had tickets for Safco Field I defiantly would be there for what will be the most meaningful games of the year to date......Its either going to be a Barn Burner series with the seriousness of the situation for both teams is realized or a bunch of old guys jogging to first base and thinking how to improve their Golf swing.......This team better come together now.

There's no argument here.

The poster I'm responding to is claiming with 100% certainty that the team won't make the playoffs. If you think that's the case you're as dumb as he is. It may happen, it may not, but with how close the race is, anyone claiming to know for certain is a moron.

Yeah, anybody who thinks that is clearly a troll. The Blue Jays are in a good position.

Human nature see's trends. Jonn discovered the implosion On September 5th.. since then it has just gotten worse and worse and nothing has stopped it.

Logically the Jays should still have a decent shot at making the playoffs. 2 game lead 13 to go

Emotionally it feels as if they are done, cooked, gone, over, see ya,

It just seems fitting for some reason that not only are they done, but the final 7 home games will just be misery... Fan appreciation day will be a zombie fest, and the final 4 homegames will be like something out of late 2004

a kick in the balls, a kick in the balls, sorry folks it's a kick in the balls.

I agree that claiming with 100% certainty is dumb... My point, and not even necessarily with you, is that there should be cause for worry. Things are trending in a very bad direction and seem to be sliding off the rails. A few people seem to be in denial. As a fan, I'm worried.

I'm pretty sure everyone is worried, what's the point of going off the rails of a team you supposedly root for, they(players) certainly need to pull their heads out of their ass.

Yes but now it is proven that the Jays can make a lot of $$ for Rogers. Rogers has a real incentive to do well for the Jays unlike before AA when Jays were just content

Going forward Rogers media will want to sustain the attendance and television numbers. To do this they will spend $$.

A model of success has been created. That is the important part

I am not to certain that Rogers cares to much about the Jays fan base or its revenue. Last nights broadcast would indicate otherwise in that they are hedging their bet on hockey, with 5 channels of coverage for the world series of nothing, and 1 channel had complete coverage of the Jays run for a post season position. The fan base that showed up last night for the Jays beat anything I have seen in the past in Seattle which by the way has always been good. I would like to know the televised audience numbers of the hockey game vs the baseball game.........I think those numbers would indicate if they actually knew what they are doing........

Since Rogers spent billions on it's hockey deal, that's all they really care about at this point. It's been a disaster for them so far as ratings were way down for the NHL this past season with all the Canadian teams sucking.

I agree with both of you. The offensive make up and approach has been troubling all season, and worse in this slump. I always thought our rotation was punching above their weight and our pen is average.

Having said that you can pick apart any team still in the hunt and we have tons of talent that is capable of going on a roll...and just when you think its bleakest Marco delivers a f***ing gem last night! Always darkest before the dawn. Lets go Jays!!!

My only real hope for this team is the Baseball God's are bracing us for the sweetest road to the World Series ever.

Beat Baltimore in the wild card game, beat the Rangers in the ALDS, and then beat the Red Sox in the ALCS.

Hey, let me dream, goddammit!

I don't think anyone is really abandoning the team. It's a defense mechanism. Prepare yourself for the worst ahead of time to try and lessen the impact if/when your heart gets broken.

Well, that's just... Lame.

All I can say is that I am really looking forward to being back at the dome on Friday night. No turning my back on this team now, ride or die until the end.

I'm going to the game Sunday and the final home game of the year, hope they can clinch a Wild Card at home and then if Boston stumbles possibly steal the East from them in Boston.

clinching the east in Fenway on the last game of the year would be sweet.

I've gone to the final home game three out of the last four years and went to the second final game (Price v Archer slugfest) last year. I don't have tickets for any upcoming series though. Last game I got to was the comeback against the Red Sox back in May. My final series tradition is ruined.

Red Sox's are due to come back down to earth anytime now. Law of averages.

I think that's what the Yankees told themselves last year about the Jay's. Boston is good.

I was at that Archer and Price game too, pick up some tickets and come to this years final game!

Dear Fans

We would like to Address rumours that "implosion" is over and was a failure". Implosions are not entirely predictable but we believe the implosion will be successful and ultimately you will look back at Fan Appreciation day as the pivotal moment that everyone realized "holy f*** we imploded".

With several teams chasing the Jays some of them are bound to win. On fan appreciation day come watch the elderly jays take on Gary Sanchez and the baby bombers... on this day we see the Jays losing their grip on a playoff spot.

Then come watch the final series of the year as Buck Sholwater and the Baltimore Orioles make it official...

Implosion... slow and painful...

I'll be very surprised if the Yanks don't lose at least 3 out of 4

I hope you are right. The logical side of me says "it's a coin flip", actually the logical side says check fangraphs... 75% actually

The illogical side says we are in the midst of a long national nightmare.. implosion 2016. The only rule of implosion is that things will be worse at the end of every series.

1. Most of time during implosion you will lose series... make things worse automatically

2. In the rare cases of winning a series 2 or more rivals will sweep their series.

Those are the only two rules of implosion... apply 3 more times and it is over.

Sounds like wishful thinking............did you not watch the Angel series.

Boston was underachieving all year, they're finally playing as a team with that much talent should be playing. Not to knock the Jays, but even in the second half of 2015 I was thinking the Sox would take the division this year, and that never changed. This is not surprising or unexpected to me.
