Travis is now hitting 9th wow.

Hopefully Estrada finds his groove again tonight. Difficult to out slug the Orioles like Minnesota.

tbh, with Saunders getting a day off I'd prefer Navarro in the line up over Smoak against LHP.

Navarro has been s*** this year guys, what in the world are you expecting? Navarro should not be playing at all except for giving Martin a break once every 5 days.

This may be true and it's extremely sad. Although, after Smoak's last start against a lefty, I would put him back in there just to see if you can squeeze two decent games out of the guy all year.

I still have nightmares about game 6 in KC

He's got to be better than 59 wRC+ lol

Career vs LHP

Smoak: 85 wRC+

Navarro: 106 wRC+

Travis should be batting sixth and Upton ninth, but you know..

Agree with Travis but no way should Smoak or Pillar hit ahead of Upton. Pillar should be hitting 9th and Smoak should be tied to an anchor and thrown overboard. Or on the bench.

Not necessarily the way I would order them but if I were Wade Miley I'd be s***ing my pants at seeing those 9 right handers on the lineup card tonight.

Upton is pretty decent vs lefty pitching. Career 110 wRC+. I'm fine with where he is.

I'm just looking at in a sense where Upton would provide excellent speed and base running for the big boys, but yeah i see your points.

Sure but Pillar could do the same thing in the 9 hole. Hes not quite as fast but Pillar can definitely run.

I'll agree with this. I'd rather have Ed at first and Pikachu DH

who knows, maybe Smoak can walk into a hit or two.

if Gibbons ever lets guys run this would be a point, but he won't let anyone steal in front of the big bats so the argument is moot

I actually prefer Smoak batting right handed than Saunders vs a LHP.

True, but Upton or Pillar for that fact, can score from first at a higher success rate on gap shots than than anyone else batting ninth.

Actually, Pillar batting ninth and Travis seventh would make more sense.

I hate to do this because defending Gibbons makes me want to vomit, but look at Travis' splits. Dude can't hit lefties this season. It's probably a sample size issue since he hit them fine last year, but I can't get mad at White Cito looking at splits when putting the lineup together. At least he's trying. Now, if Travis was batting 9th against a righty, then F Gibbs.

Saunders has been pretty good against Lefties. I wouldn't let him face Chris Sale but a s*** bag like Miley I will take my chances.

Nice to see Martin @ C tonight. Why is Travis in the 9 spot again?

Because GIbbons is a f***ing idiot. I don't get why people always question lineup and bullpen decisions. Gibbons has been making stupid decisions for a long time. Luckily he has a talented team or he'd been fired long ago. I just worry about September callups, Gibbons like his new shiny toys, so these guys will all be coming in in close game situations. Can't wait.

This partially proves how bad Gibby's lineup is tonight and it partially proves how stacked this team is now that everyone is healthy.

It seems like he loves throwing his new relievers in to high leverage roles.
