HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I was at game 5 ALDS last year so it's tough to beat that game in terms of entertainment. As a result I've only been to two games, the first one was two weeks ago.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Thanks to the s***** time of game 5 and a problem at work I was forced to sell my ticket 45min before game time. It went above face value but I was so pissed off all afternoon leading up to it knowing I couldn't fix the problem in time.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Went to one game in Toronto in June (Edwin's extra innings walk off HR) Went to Jays @ Boston in July (the one Stroman lost) Going to Toronto for a game vs MIN late August Will go to at least one playoff game presuming they're in it
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 My wife and two kids despise baseball because that's the reason daddy is unavailable right now, watching TV. So sadly, no one will go to a game with me lol. Only been to one this year, they lost 3-2 to Detroit. Pretty s***** game overall.

My kid loves ball but my wife and he bitches if I'm on our board and watching the games all the time, which I do. He will watch the Jays with me most times and so will the wife. They both LOVE going to the games live. This whole year "win" year its felt like a pennant race since game 1. SEPT could be unreal intense. Have been to 5 games this year in TOR coming in from Calgary. May go to more in TOR. Also looking at Anaheim for mid Sept. Had a great time there last year in Aug. watching the Jays.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) My son, my mother and my fiancée all love baseball so I have lots of people who will go with me happily. Dad was the biggest ball fan of all, but I lost him last December. Problem is I live, like, far away from TO. For now. Edited August 11, 2016 by G-Snarls

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I got a 20 game flex pack but still go with friends that visit a few times a year, I would say by the end of the year with road games and all that I will catch 30 Jays games. I average around that each year for the past 5 years probably, I went to every playoff game last year too it was a blast. I will miss the ALDS and ALCS this year if the Jays make it that far due to being in Europe but hope to return for the World Series games.

Maybe Ill see you at a game again this year! Sorry about your Dad. Lost mine in 95. Not easy.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Going to see the Jays on the road is actually a ton of fun. I saw them versus Price this year, Verlander vs Happ in Detroit when JV was in his prime, and the balls to the wall game with Bruce Tallet in Baltimore. That's awesome! I've seen the Jays on the road a couple of times. First time in 2008 at the old Yankee Stadium, which was an afternoon game and Giambi hit a walk-off home run off BJ Ryan. I saw the Jays play a series in Boston in 2009 at the end of August. Stayed at the same hotel as the players which was pretty awesome. Got to meet Cito Gaston, Jose Bautista (when he was a nobody), Marco Scutaro, Jason Frasor, Jesse Carlson, Kevin Millar etc. Saw the Jays in Philly in 2010 (games were moved because of the G20 in Toronto) and saw Doc face the Jays for the first time. Stayed at the same hotel as the players again, and met Buck Martinez, & Jesse Litsch who actually came to our table at the bar to talk with us haha. In 2011, saw them play against Cincy and last year went to NYC in September and caught the doubleheader on the Saturday. Never have been to Seattle before, though I've got some Air Miles to burn and I figure to hit up Portland while I'm out there and Vancouver again.
specialiste Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Just one. Normally I attend 5-6 games ( I'm from Montreal) but it's real hard, near impossible, to buy good tickets on the Jays website. I don't like to get rob either by StubHub.

Heard Seattle is so fun to catch a Jays game, I have been to Safeco before but no Jays game unfortunatly. Portland is an amazing city, make sure to do a group bike ride beer tour it's a blast. http://voyagevixens.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/bikes-and-brews-in-portland-OR.jpg

I said you've obviously never been to Portland.

Always wondered which hotel do the players usually stay at?
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Always wondered which hotel do the players usually stay at? I can only speak for Detroit and Toronto, MLB/NHL/NFL stay at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit and in Toronto MLB players stay at the Ritz.

wamco Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I don't mix drinking with exercise. As a result I don't exercise much. Even the nintendo wii seemed a bit excessive. I don't need my Nintendo, my good friend since Zelda in 87, telling me I'm fat. You've changed, Nintendo, it's like I don't even know you anymore.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Always wondered which hotel do the players usually stay at? In Boston, it's the Sheraton. Even saw the Chicago White Sox players there before the Jays series that weekend because got there on a Thursday. In Philly, it's the Ritz Carlton. In Cincy, I believe it's the Westin which is across the street from the Hilton downtown (where I stayed), since I saw some Jays players like Yunel Escobar and saw AA in the Westin lobby, since both hotels were connected by an above ground walkway, so always walked through there.

CBlake Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Stayed in the same hotel as the Jays a few years back in Baltimore, The Hilton just past the outfield fence.
