Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 He earned 2 million because he got hurt before they released him. You come in and walk a lefty on four pitches and cost us a game. Get the f*** out.

OneManAsylum Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Yet Gibby decided to use him in a 2-2 game against a division rival...why waste Biagini in a 9-1 game yesterday?
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Good. Curious who's brought in. Loup I assume, or Boone if they can trade for him. Both maybe. It'd be nice to have a plethora of lefties.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 The Danny Barnes show? Could be. But I'm kinda hoping for an established arm for a playoff run.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Could be. But I'm kinda hoping for an established arm for a playoff run. Yeah I agree. Will Smith or Abad would be nice. Both lefties as well

How the f*** was Gibbons supposed to know we would play 12 innings today? Orioles are gonna beat us if it goes to extras anyways... They have a better bullpen.

In all fairness, he could have used Morales in yesterday's game and saved the better Biagini for today's game where on paper, a tight game was anticipated. Either Gibby values Morales more or he's just dumb. Maybe both?

I don't think using Biagini was necessary yesterday, and he certainly would have given us a better chance today than Morales.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Should do the same with Chavez too I just don't understand why he didn't just do 2 innings with Cecil
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 How the f*** was Gibbons supposed to know we would play 12 innings today? Orioles are gonna beat us if it goes to extras anyways... They have a better bullpen. He could have stretched Biagini for 2 innings today if he hadn't used him in a blowout the day before. Plus, not sure what he had in mind letting Morales face righties. Was he expecting a different result? Might as well have started the inning with Gopher Ball Chavez and lived with the consequences. Probably would have lead to a loss anyway, but at least he's decent occasionally for the Jays so maybe there was hope he could have gotten them to another inning or two before he inevitably gave up bombs (and it would have happened eventually.....dude is John Wasdin this year).

Hearing he's been released or DFA'd. Will create space if they acquire pitcher Good Riddance Agreed. Morales is single-handedly responsible for losing this game and forcing Chavez to come in with runners on base and give up a 3-run HR.. Jeese is better when it's a clean inning. Considering Morales didn't impress in Buffalo during rehab, it's no surprise he's getting a DFA. After Chavez gave up that bomb, I thought "I'm outta here!" (I was at the game.)

You don't need to know the next game will be 12 innings to not be an idiot and use one of our better relievers in a 9-1 game. Because he's f***ing stupid and has been doing it for years. ALWAYS puts the new s***** guy in close games. This everyone knew how it would turn out except our idiot manager.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Chavez better be next, consistently awful..
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I'll say it again, Orioles have a great bullpen. It would have been tough to beat them in extras.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I didn't mind today's loss. I am convinced if we go to extras past the 10th we lost. No proper long men in the BP. Chavez is beyond atrocious and Morales was a gamble. Literally nothing we can do there. It was short sighted of Gibbons to use Biagini yesterday but this BP is desperately missing a swingman. If I'm Atkins I'm trading Chavez for a similar arm with options, send him down and make hutch the swingman. Then we can acquire a Logan or another lockdown arm. Chavez is a f***ing clown I haven't hated a guy as much as him since Francisco Cordero. Storen was just a disappointment but he lost velo, this guy is a piece of s***, any inherited runs will score + 1 on a homer before he strikes out the side. That's the worst kind, scared shitless relievers. f*** him
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Chavez is usually fine when he starts an inning, but the guy can't come in and get a strikeout in a big situation to save his life. I guess the solution is to never bring him into the middle of an inning with runners on base...
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I defended Chavez for a long time but he's been terrible. The guy can certainly nail down some Ks but he has given up some massive home runs this year. Outside of this week's double feature against the O's and Padres, he's also responsible for the Holt grand slam and Desmond's bomb from the brawl game. I still don't think he is genuinely this bad but he seems determined to try and change my mind.

Sanchez was great too, but that damn lead off walk ended up hurting us both innings.

Yea, but at the same time, we were able to get past their best 3 arms and still be in the game, at that point I thought we were somewhat even.
