Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I'm pretty sure either Delgado or Green would have done it at some point. Yes, they both did. Padres coach Mark McGwire did it to left field.

Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 That Dickerson HR... I have to admit, I only remember a few times seeing a HR ball reach the 500's (Blue Jays legend Jayson Werth comes to mind) and the only times it happened, I remember them being just inside the foul pole and barely making it into the 1st row. That one was a legit 2-3 rows deep and wasn't even close to the foul pole. I don't think I've ever seen a ball travel that far here before. I'm not even mad, that was amazing.

I have to think if it happens, Storen is going the other way to offset some of the salary.

Josh Phelps in 2004 I believe.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 gross we need bullpen help not another outfielder, especially a loose cannon like BJ If it puts Smoak's big dumb f***ing ass on the bench then i'm all for it. Improves our outfield defense and improves the offense drastically.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I have to think if it happens, Storen is going the other way to offset some of the salary. Good point, I never thought of that.
Lil Looper Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 As long they are eating salary its a good move. Sure to an extent, obviously his salary is way too high for his game. It has to be this year we compete though. Id rather get a high priced great bullpen piece then worry about the 2017 outfield (i.e. no sauders/bau) We just dont need him more than we need top bullpen relief
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 Zaun says that Sale is the only pitcher in the AL who is better than Sanchez right now... Who is on the trade market...
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 I have to think if it happens, Storen is going the other way to offset some of the salary. Padres need some bullpen help after trading Rodney. Plus, I could see Storen having success there.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Josh Phelps in 2004 I believe. Edwin did it last year against Baltimore off of Matusz. Also did it in 2013 off of Lester although this was just inside the pole (several rows deep though).
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 Should I do the GDT again tomorrow?
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Who is on the trade market... Fair enough I must have missed that part, makes sense considering the pitching market isn't all that great.

STLJaysFan Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I remember when Wallace was a top Cardinals prospect and was involved in the Holliday trade, and now he's bounced around a bit and is toying with the Mendoza line as a bench player on a bad team
