BTS Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 What a clusterf***. Hard to think of a worse tenure with the team.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Goodnight sweet prince. f*** off with Tepera though. f*** right off.
Cyris Verified Member Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Good move to DFA him as he wasnt providing any real value but calling up Tepera who is equally useless doesnt help much. Would rather have seen a little outside the box thinking like calling up Hutchison and going with a 6 man rotation to limit Sanchez's innings to delay moving him to the pen.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 What a clusterf***. Hard to think of a worse tenure with the team. Arencibia. Though of course the situations were completely different
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 At least with Storen not pitching it will reduce the carbon footprint!
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 What a clusterf***. Hard to think of a worse tenure with the team. Franky Cordero was a disaster signing of epic proportions
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Watch Storen find himself and everyone here who wished for his dfa catch amnesia
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Franky Cordero was a disaster signing of epic proportions Yeah I can think of a few just from the AA era, Emilio Bonifacio, Francisco Cordero, Esmil Rogers, Jeremy Jeffress. Mike Sirotka pretty much takes the cake for worst of all time though.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Basically every poster at the time thought that the Cordero acquisition was a disaster. The Storen thing is weird because I was actually quite excited to see him here. I figure he's going to bounce back next season unless he's hurt.

We've had some disasters where known shitbags bombed, but there weren't really any warning signs that Storen was about to completely implode. Relievers.
admin Site Manager Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Watch Storen find himself and everyone here who wished for his dfa catch amnesia I don't think many here would be shocked.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Sudden velo drop, unexpected. It happens. .485 wOBA on his Sinker this year (primary fastball); .324 career. Some of it is bad luck but not all of it. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=6983&position=P&pitch=SI
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 So much for Storen, Osuna and Cecil being a poor man's Bettances Miller and Chapman. They weren't even a homeless man's Bettances Miller and Chapman. Lol yup. Jesus christ Storen and Cecil have been bad. Osuna has also taken a bit of a step back
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Lol yup. Jesus christ Storen and Cecil have been bad. Osuna has also taken a bit of a step back Ffs how has Osuna taken a step back
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Lol yup. Jesus christ Storen and Cecil have been bad. Osuna has also taken a bit of a step back If this Osuna taking a step back we should be dancing in the streets. Hes had like 3 bad outings this year. 2 of them in a 3 game span. Being brought into train wreck scenarios by Gibbons. And he was unlucky otherwise he probably gets out of them and has an ERA under 1.5
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Osuna has also taken a bit of a step back He already has more fWAR this season in 42 appearances (1.4) than last season in 68 (1.3).
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Watch Storen find himself and everyone here who wished for his dfa catch amnesia Why do people keep saying this? Even if he does find his form, all that says is that a change of scenery is what he needed. I feel like ever since the end of spring training I keep hearing about how he doesn't like it here in Toronto. If he lands in a place he likes and pitches well doesn't mean he would have pitch well here. He wasn't a fit here, move on
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Watch Storen find himself and everyone here who wished for his dfa catch amnesia I would say good for him. Clearly it wasn't a good fit here. You can't keep trotting him out if he isn't pitching well.

It's when he's in those non-save situation he loses that adrenalin or something... same was the case for Mariano no? s*** in non save situations vs. Save situations He already has more fWAR this season in 42 appearances (1.4) than last season in 68 (1.3). No but he looks like he took a step back!!!!
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I keep hearing about how he doesn't like it here in Toronto. Was this confirmed by a reliable source, or just fan assumptions?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Was this confirmed by a reliable source, or just fan assumptions? I kept hearing it on the Fan590 by Wilner and Brunt and co throughout the season since maybe April/May
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I kept hearing it on the Fan590 by Wilner and Brunt and co throughout the season since maybe April/May Ah thanks. Unfortunate situation for all.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Josh Johnson was epically disappointing. That one hurt the most to be honest. Obviously outside of trading away Syndergaard. I just had foolish high hopes for him.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Laser shot is finally over. Free Barnes
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 If Storen played on another team this year, I suspect a lot of people on here would be calling for Shatkins to give him a shot...
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 If Storen played on another team this year, I suspect a lot of people on here would be calling for Shatkins to give him a shot... Why? The guy's peripherals are atrocious. A <9 K/9, 5.00 FIP, 4.36 xFIP, etc. If he had numbers like Trevor May, then I'd agree with you, but Storen's been s*** in every way.

Because years of much better performance would lead one to believe that it's still in there and maybe a change of scenery could bring out the Grilli in him. Storen is not old so the odds are that he isn't just losing it.
