Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 So, Pompey kicked Shatkins' dog? Also, be prepared for LOTS of Zeke...
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Also, be prepared for LOTS of Zeke... Got to give him a chance to regress to the mean after all.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 All for a meaningless double in a 10-run blowout. Brutal.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Can we please catch a break with the injuries, and I don't mean every player breaking every part of their body.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Can we please catch a break with the injuries, and I don't mean every player breaking every part of their body. ??? Hasn't been THAT bad. The rotation has been a rock.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 f***. I knew it. If Bautista would have just been stretching his toes a little more we could have avoided all this.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Isn't ceciliani hitting like .200 in triple a lol
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 This might be a blessing in disguise. Time off for a minor injury might help Bautista get better over all though it seems like a waste to not run with Pompey during that time.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Reason for Pompey to not be up? Cecilliani...wtf
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Isn't ceciliani hitting like .200 in triple a lol He's a fifth OF. Can't expect all that much. Pompey's only coming up of he can play, which will only happen if Zeke hits the concrete. EE, Josh, Saunders, and Martin should be able to hold the fort at least. Tulo soon too, hopefully.

This tweet says it's not broken which is good.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 ??? Hasn't been THAT bad. The rotation has been a rock. Seems like it's been a lot to me. Tulo, Bats more than once, Cecil, Morales, Martin, Donaldson had an issue at the start of the season that seemed to linger, Travis was out to start the year, Saunders. I'm sure I'm missing some. Some more severe than others, some just nagging lingering stuff. Still seems like too much to me. Only June.

The rest of the line up has been raking recently. If there's a time to rest Bautista for two weeks this is it.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Isn't ceciliani hitting like .200 in triple a lol I was going to say they're not exactly running with the hot hand but upon reflection they ARE running with the hot hand, Zeke.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Travis back in the leadoff spot? Well, not today. He's not in the lineup.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 On the plus side, the defense will be better.. Zeke, despite all the hate, is actually not that bad defensively in RF. Plus, we need a backup CF right now--Pillar's going to need a day off soon. And Bautista hasn't hit much this year despite the walks--he's hitting .222 in June, and only 1 HR.. it's almost like he's already left Toronto as is.. Might as well give Pompey/Ceciliiani/Carrera a chance..
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Well, not today. He's not in the lineup. What? Why
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 So, Pompey kicked Shatkins' dog? Also, be prepared for LOTS of Zeke... Heard Pompey literally shat in Shartkins bed.

He really hasn't been that good (for him) on offense and shockingly I think Zeke may provide more value on D. Wish Dalton was coming up. Every team deals with these things through 162. I don't think we are too bad off.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 This will hurt Bautista and his contract demands.

Pompey has been doing well, would like to see what he can do this time around. Jose hasn't quite been Jose, but at least the potential was there to turn the corner. Still hate to lose him.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 He has a "strained big toe" and is in a walking boot. This sounds a lot like turf toe, which can linger all season long and can be a major issue. It's quite possible we don't see Bautista again this season.

Bautista has done basically very little this year.. sure he has 12 HR and walks a ton, but his D in RF continues to worsen, he's leading the league in GIDP (12), and at his age, he's going to get worse, not better offensively and defensively.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 What? Why No idea, lineup was posted on Twitter and he's not starting.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 They probably want Pompey playing everyday, which might not be an option right now with the big club. Might as well bring up the scrub just to fill out a roster spot and make sure a live body is in there for backup. Also what's this nonsense about Pillar needing a day off soon?
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 He'll be back after the 15 days most likely.. I sure hope so.
