Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 terrible bunt but even worse D haha awesome
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Lmfao Happ was running like a butterfly down to first base.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 The injury to Tulo gave Goins time to save himself from a demotion. He might be on the team all year now because of it.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Pillar with the takeout slide. Good call by the umps. If it was a Phillies baserunner against us you guys would have been happy with the call. Oh my god shut up. You and I both know you are just trolling. Stop it
93 Jays Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Good, give us the run back those dumb f***ing yanks robbed from us
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 They were dangerous? You don't think there's anything wrong with a guy sliding feet first into a fielder a few feet outside of the baseline? This rule is stupid, though. Hernandez made a lazy play and the dumb rule saved him from himself. As long as there's no intent to injure, the batter stays in the running lane and ends up on the bag, there should be nothing illegal. They get hurt, but I prefer the old rules to the new ones. The new ones are way too arbitrary. There needs to be clear cut rules. Pillars slide can't be deemed illegal there was literally no where else he could go. I agree with you, as long as there was no intent it's fine. My suggestion is that if you make natural contact during your slide into the bag it's legal. There should be space to allow breaking up DPs
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I'm hoping they'll take a look at this during the offseason, preferably sooner but we all know that won't happen. The league seems to have adapted well to the path to the plate rule (ie Buster Posey rule), the same will happen with this rule, it just needs tweeking because right now it's not really accomplishing its purpose which is to eliminate dirty takeout slides, clearly the one by Pillar wasn't one. My biggest worry is that this will likely affect some playoff game this year before they make the necessary adjustments. It almost certainly won't happen during the season. But this rule definitely needs some tweaking.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Pillar with the takeout slide. Good call by the umps. If it was a Phillies baserunner against us you guys would have been happy with the call. Phillies fans are confused and laughed at the call
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 at least we got that run back f***ing MLB
intrigid Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 The old rule was insane. The new one has over corrected it. There's got to be an in-between. Simple. The play should not be reviewable. That's all there is to it.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 That girl just got nailed right in the tit.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 It's not the correct call at all Its 100% wrong based on the new rule. If the 2B steps in front of the bag....all is free game. He slid before the bag, stayed on the bag, didn't intentially hit the fielder. Exactly.... So what happens now if the players just start blocking the base and letting the runner slide into them? Automatic overturn because the runner made contact?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 He slowed up like wtf are you doing Would you rather he injure his hamstring? f***ing relax, it's 5 to f***ing 0.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 That women could of died Maybe the fans should have to come to games in full body armour. Safety first.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Simple. The play should not be reviewable. That's all there is to it. That's actually a good compromise. If it looks dirty, the umps call it right away.
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Happ went into second standing up. He should be called out for not doing a bona fide slide.
93 Jays Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Figures these dumb as jerked monkey dick calls are coming from new York,,,,go figure, love to see a call like that go against the yankees
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Would you rather he injure his hamstring? f***ing relax, it's 5 to f***ing 0. You're more likely to injure something running like a f***ing buffon than just simply running in a straight line.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Oh my god shut up. You and I both know you are just trolling. Stop it Not really. Pillars slide was too aggressive he took out the legs of Hernandez, it was dangerous.
