Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Sub-20% GBs, that might be the lowest I've ever seen.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 If its for a PTBNL scrub this is a good deal. He has been pretty good pre-injury last year. Decent gamble.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Velo and SwStr% have fallen off a cliff this year. Probably not the answer but maybe he's an upgrade on one of the backend guys.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Robert Murray @RobertMurrayBBE now Grilli to #BlueJays. Prospect going to #Braves. Goodbye Alford

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 am still waiting for that mother to switch to 2B like was rumored. He really doesn't seem to have a future in a COF.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 am still waiting for that mother to switch to 2B like was rumored. He really doesn't seem to have a future in a COF. They've already tried it at the Arizona Fall League and it didnt stick for whatever reason.

IIRC they actually did try this, it just didn't work out. I think he might have even played a handful of MiLB games at the position.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Good, I guess this move can't hurt.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 too bad. He has some desirable skill-sets, just harder to dream on them at his positions.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Velo and SwStr% have fallen off a cliff this year. Probably not the answer but maybe he's an upgrade on one of the backend guys. Hes coming back from that awful achillies injury, he looked pretty rusty in his first few appearances but has been much crisper his last handful of outings. Hopefully he continues and resembles his 2015 form
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 its Sean Ratcliffe, who I never heard of
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 Better than Tepera ? the strikeouts are still there, as well as the track record. So we got that going for us.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I think Grilli is a great guy to gamble on. Especially if the cost is basically nobody.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 CONFIRMED - #Bluejays have acquired reliever Jason Grilli from #Braves. #Jays
flafson Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 This year he has ERA 5.29, FIP 4.4 and xFIP 5.22, why do people believe he will be an upgrade over any other scrap?
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Like Storen, his fastball velocity is down 2 mph this year, at 92mph. Last year it was 94.

Probably an upgrade over Storen. Also shows fans that the front office is trying to win. Or at least gives that appearance. He is at 12k per 9 innings this year.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Your not going to find a star on the trade market this early so you try to catch cheap lightning in a bottle. If he finds what he used to have then he can be a good catch for what i am guessing is pretty cheap.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Last 5 appearances : 4.2 Innings, 0 Runs, 4 walks, 8Ks.
