Cyborg Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 He should be talking about this s***** bullpen instead, f*** this ump Youre an idiot. Floyd has been awesome.
Statman Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Russell Martin sporting -0.8 WAR and his best asset defensively of throwing out runners is regressing. It is so gross. Martin contributing a 30 wRC+ for today's game was a bonus for this team today.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Everyone in this thread should be ashamed. All so reactionary. reactions in the reactionary thread.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Sportsnet central had an interesting interview with Donaldson. He confirmed that he was responding to the Twins dugout not the umpire. Also SportsNet Central thinks that Aaron Loup pitching in AAA is good news for the Blue Jays in that Loup will be with the Blue Jays soon; this is desperation time for the Blue Jays.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Youre an idiot. Floyd has been awesome. Stop pmsing, dumbass. I wasn't talking about Floyd specifically (even though he blew it today) but the pen in general which has cashed in most inherited runners.

Ehhh he could of still been talking s*** to the ump and then he was tossed tried to make it look like he was addressing the twins bench.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Ehhh he could of still been talking s*** to the ump and then he was tossed tried to make it look like he was addressing the twins bench. He said that the Twins were telling the umpire that the first pitch was in the zone (it was called a ball), the third pitch at the same location was called a strike; Donaldson just said that he told the umpire not to let the Twins chirp at him (the umpire). I believe Donaldson, I don't think he was verbally abusing the umpire in any way. Donaldson seems like a very honest, sincere and humble person - an easy player for fans to root for.

The bullpen has been fine. 13th in SIERA, 15th in WAR, 15th in ERA-, 10th in SwStr%. There isnt a meteic where they have been bad except for situational which is just random.

Governator Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 An average at best bullpen is a s***** bullpen. We are missing the old Cecil to get us out of mid inning jams soooo badly.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 An interesting stat: The Blue Jays are 9 - 13 at home (0.409 winning record) The Twins are now 7 - 12 at home (0.368 winning average)

Players dont perform better or worse in different clutch situations. Clutch doesnt exist. Its just up to the manager to use the right guys at the right time.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Bring back Sergio Santos, he was a great closer!
bowld Verified Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 This team isn't even close to being "out of it". Jesus Much closer to being out of it than in it. Offense can't score and pen can't hold leads. It's ova
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 So Donaldson said "f*** you" to the Twins bench but said it in the vicinity of the umpire. I don't care, if you are an umpire and you hear this, you don't second guess it, you kick him out of the game immediately. You hesitate and you let players walk all over you.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I think it was a mistake not putting Peredes into the game instead of Goins. Have to think we could have scored another run or two. Offense has been struggling lately, i'll take Peredes in the lineup between Bautista and Eddy over Goins and lose the defense at 2nd... Especially with a lefty on the mound.

Or you take a second to understand he's directing it at the other bench and give warnings? This isn't basketball.

vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 gbill mentioned that earlier but I just assumed he was making up stuff as usual. That it's a real thing is pathetic.

Especially with a lefty on the mound. Yeah, I found that a pretty shocking lack of judgement from Gibby. Having Goins batting second is as good as throwing in the towel. I don't understand why Gibbons is so big on this guy. Yeah he's a good defender but it doesn't matter if he can't hit worth a damn. Save him as a late inning replacement Even the dumbass Toronto media is in love with Goins. I remember Bob McCowen on PTS was rallying for him to be the lead-off man during the off-season. How clueless can you be?

I don't understand why this is worth mentioning? Who cares what someones wife tweets. Have you guys ever seen some of the stuff that the wives of players tweet? Mind numbing.

Barry Davis was all over it on Twitter too.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Even if the pen has been bad I feel like starters are being left in too long. Rather let the pen start an inning fresh than this let the pitcher throw 100 pitches then bring a reliever on with 1 out and 2 guys on base that seems to keep happening.
