Great game for Carrera and Tulo. Carrera's so frustrating, he's shown signs in his MiLB career that he might be a useful piece then shits the bed constantly at the MLB level and has games like today occasionally.

His whiff rate in his other starts was really good and didn't match the Ks. So far he's been average or a little worse which if exactly what he's paid to be.

I was at the game today - it was a great show. I am always impressed by the Rogers Centre, it is without question an engineering marvel.

 

The dirt infield looks good and so does the new artificial turf (as of 2015) as compared to a couple of years ago.

 

Tulowitzki, Donaldson and Carrera had great games.

 

Goins is solid defensively but I think he needs at least a game off each week, the same as other regulars get; maybe some rest would help Goins make harder contact when hitting.

Not really... with scattered PAs throughout his career he's been able to compile 0.7 WAR in about one season worth of PA. It's a lot easier to play baseball with everyday at bats vs coming off the bench or playing once every fifth day. If he were to play everyday he probably could be a 2+ WAR player. That's average. Average != sucks.
