G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 I think everyone can agree that Smoak sits out. For me its not ideal but Upton or Barnes in the field and Batista DH...... Lots of teams have to deal with awkward platoons Smoak and Upton are platoon players and are being used as such Gibby is doing OK in this regard
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I know Snell is a Lefty .... Tell me what else you know. You have my curiosity now.

I'm still eh about us winning the divison, I'm sure we will but I want to see the offence blow a team and start cashing in players for a few games this week

Our offense has to get its collective s*** together. For a team that has done as well as we have, it seems like we haven't hit on all cylinders yet and played our best ball. This could be a great thing and we get a head of steam at the right time, or we could just sort of carry on this way. At the end of the days 64 wins is 64 wins and that ain't bad thus far. As much as some complain about the bats, I can't imaging the O's hangout is too happy about getting owned by the A's arms the last 2 games and losing to "easy teams to beat".

Man you saying we haven't played our best ball yet gave me flashbacks of August/September last year. Imagine if we go on a .750!!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Lefty on the mound and we never faced him? Chalk up the loss.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Lefty on the mound and we never faced him? Chalk up the loss. How many K's tonight?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 How many K's tonight? 10+ but the Jays hitters will get plenty of information.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Gibbons batting Upton 6th and behind Saunders...
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 What's wrong with Bautista?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 What's wrong with Bautista? Well his cleat got caught in the turf yesterday. It looked pretty painful. He was slow to get up and I would imagine it has something to do with that.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 What's wrong with Bautista? I'm gonna go with he's been pretty s*** and Gibby's giving him a day to hopefully clear his head.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I'm gonna go with he's been pretty s*** and Gibby's giving him a day to hopefully clear his head. Plus the off-day tomorrow

He can have a day off tomorrow to clear his head, the eye test says he has been a little better at the plate recently. Id rather him at 1B or Barney than Smoak. Its getting really frustrating watching Smoak, he has been nothing but pure garbage.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I'm gonna go with he's been pretty s*** and Gibby's giving him a day to hopefully clear his head. His timing looks damn near back the last few games, I wouldn't want to lose that bat for one of Smoak or Barney. He's hit the ball hard, had a couple of doubles, nearly a HR. If it was because he's not playing up to his standards you move him down the line up not replace him with shittier players. I'm going to guess he's hurt.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Gotta be a tweak or something. He had the decisive hit on Monday and missed a home run by inches yesterday. He's not that much worse than anyone else has been during the team-wide hitting slump.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Gibbons batting Upton 6th and behind Saunders... 6th is actually in front of 7th
Melvin Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 6th is actually in front of 7th But 6 got scared when 7 8 9.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Holy f***. What a year. Should just accept the QO and try again.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Holy f***. What a year. Should just accept the QO and try again. Id love to take him on a QO. Or a 3 year deal with an opt out
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I'd flip Martin and Tulo. Not sure why Martin hits so high up in the batting order.

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I missed the cleat in the turf issue, was it his knee that got hurt from it?
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I'd flip Martin and Tulo. Not sure why Martin hits so high up in the batting order. yea Martin is 0 for his last 14. Granted aside from Travis everyone has looked like ass.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Anyone know when Carrera is eligible to be back on the DL? I'm not excited about him, but he's better than Italian dude edit: nvm Shi said next tuesday
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I missed the cleat in the turf issue, was it his knee that got hurt from it? It looked bad. People were killing him for the throw. I was shocked he stayed in the game. He litterally fell down to the turf in agony. In a weird way this may work out for us. Bautista takes QO. Resign Edwin to something similar Cespedes got and let Saunders walk unless he accepts the QO as well.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 yea Martin is 0 for his last 14. Granted aside from Travis everyone has looked like ass. At least he is BBing more. His OBP now is the exact same as 2015 year. .5 WAR. Ug. His K rate is still a lot higher than 2015, but he is still coming off that epic first 6 weeks of season where he forgot he was a MLB hitter. We have too many guys with high K rates. "yaaa got ta put tha baaawwwlll in play"
