It looked bad. People were killing him for the throw. I was shocked he stayed in the game. He litterally fell down to the turf in agony.

 

In a weird way this may work out for us. Bautista takes QO. Resign Edwin to something similar Cespedes got and let Saunders walk unless he accepts the QO as well.

 

Even a QO for Saunders is a risk, but I'd probably do take it. Down side is a one year over pay. Guy is a K machine and the 2016 AS game will be the high point in his career.

I wouldn't even QO him at this point. Offer him like a 12 million dollar deal for 1 year or something.

You say that likes it's nothing. 2 war is his best season so far. 17 mm. What did Shapiro say the FA value/ WAR is roughly? 8-9 MM? Like I said it's probably worth the risk.

He's a terrible major leaguer, so I don't think it matters all that much. They're basically working with OFs #5 and 6 right now.

 

Now that I think of it, it might be worth bringing up Pompey though. LTBF might be right that he could provide more help than having Lake as OF4 and continuing to give Smoak ABs.

I think its a little different for players who are 1-2 WAR players. Barney might be a 1 win player but he would never get 8 Million in the offseason.
