BTS Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Why do you guys listen to Wilner's show?
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I hope Travis won't have to fight his way back into the lineup over Goins.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I get more entertainment trolling Spanky than listening to Wilner.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Why do you guys listen to Wilner's show? very rarely.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I get more entertainment trolling Spanky than listening to Wilner. You can't troll me. The only reason you're not on the IL is cause you tweet informative news. Your conspiracy fluff is tiring.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 very rarely. Yeah I'm the same - like once a season. I was listening to one of the late night shows last night and they took calls on the Jays and they basically did exactly what Wilner did - they hammered this moronic caller. It's like you have to be mentally handicapped to get on the show or something. It's shocking how stupid most fans are. I'm an avid fan and I haven't once in my life considered calling into a radio show. I don't understand why these fans who obviously don't follow baseball that much get the desire to call in.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Unbelievable. They need to stop thinking about increasing pitch counts and instead just swing at strikes and take balls out of the zone. Simple deduction would show that they are complicating things much more than they were last season.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I wonder how far apart the teams are in this stat. On its face it does seem to confirm what we've been observing: the guys just do not swing at hittable pitches for some reason.

It's also a stat that doesn't differentiate between strikes in the middle of the plate, and those on the edges which you wouldn't want to swing at anyways unless its 2 strikes, so take it with a bit of a grain of salt. I'd be more interested to see individual, players stats on this

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Lol well that's everyones goal but the game of baseball isn't that easy... Of course not lol, but they have the ability to be good, and guys like Martin and Tulo have traditionally had decent-great BB and K rates throughout their careers, so it's reasonable to think that their approach is the issue (between the ears) rather than their talent.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I know he is hotter than a snakes ass in a wagon rut but Ive really liked Saunders approach since Day 1. His swing is short and he covering the whole plate driving the ball away. When he gets himself ahead he isn't missing many pitches. Hanging in there well against LHP. Its impressive. Lets hope he can stay healthy.(ish)
nextyear Verified Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 The line-up for today's game is posted. The game starts at 6:10 pm. The 1 through 7 hitters in the line-up can all drive the ball hard, and if Thole and Goins get on base then that is a bonus. Who knows, maybe Goins will start producing again at close to league average like the second half of 2015. Thole has been hitting better than Martin.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 God that bullpen looks like s***. Biagini, Tepera, Storen, Cecil the default loogy,

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Please no one defend Rogers ever again. Best team in 20+ years and we couldn't even sign a single RP. I mean Lowe, Madson, O'day, Kelley, Blanton, f***ing anyone please. Yep, I agree wholeheartedly.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Cecil the first reliever to start 0-5 in April in MLB History?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Cecil the first reliever to start 0-5 in April in MLB History? All i can find are season record at 16, which Cecil will shatter at current pace.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Shapiro had some income to work with and didn't utilize it to improve the pen. I don't see how this is on Rogers.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Random observation: Does anyone else find that Sportsnet commercial featuring Jose Bautista rather odd? I know Bautista used to have a pretty strong arm when he was younger but as he's aged it's regressed in a big way. At this point in his career his arm is actually a big liability out there, yet the commercial pump's up how great it is. I'm a big Baustista fan and love his approach at the plate, but to make a commercial about his throwing arm at this stage in his career? Quite bizarre.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I don't mean to come across as negative, but I'm honestly not even sure Bautista can get it in to the catcher without bouncing it.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I don't mean to come across as negative, but I'm honestly not even sure Bautista can get it in to the catcher without bouncing it. Which is perfectly acceptable?

KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 The bullpen has been atrocious, frustrating to be losing so many leads and winnable games. As bad as the pen has been, the Offense disappears in the later innings as well, we rarely seem to mount any attack later in games or add to the lead. Nearly every game is the same jays score early, then the other team chips away, and their pen mows us down the Jays pen struggles to get outs. Frustrating.
