burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Probably should have attached warning to that. Someone was talking about the thing last week ironic that she dies less than a week later.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Ang, if you're going to use words that can potentially cause a shitstorm, would you at least mind not being painfully unfunny? Your signature is racist, and leaves much to be desired coming from an intelligent person like you. As a minority, BTS (Black guy) and I (latino) feel offended for that racist quote.
nextyear Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 With Estrada pitching and Smaok in the lineup (and his high OBP) it looks like the Blue Jays have a good chance of winning tonight.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 With Estrada pitching and Smaok in the lineup (and his high OBP) it looks like the Blue Jays have a good chance of winning tonight. Id rather pillar be in the 9 hole than goins
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Id rather pillar be in the 9 hole than goins Yeah I'd put Pillar 9th and I'd switch Martin and Smoak probably? Pretty minor s***.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Id rather pillar be in the 9 hole than goins why? Pillar actually has been the better hitter so far contrary to how it seems like they've been hitting.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 why? Pillar actually has been the better hitter so far contrary to how it seems like they've been hitting. That's exactly why.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 That's exactly why. Why would you want your better hitter batting 9th instead of 8th? This isn't the NL where you have a pitcher in the lineup.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I dont like the Jays chances with Ace Tillman on the mound.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Why would you want your better hitter batting 9th instead of 8th? This isn't the NL where you have a pitcher in the lineup. Because batting your worst hitter 8 gives you a better statistical chance to score more runs. Whether your pitcher bats or not is irrelevant.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Pillar 8th splits up the lefties (assuming Smoak is a zero batting RH)
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Pillar 8th splits up the lefties (assuming Smoak is a zero batting RH) If he bats ninth he splits up Goins and Saunders. Either way its inconsequential
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Solid lineup by Gibby. It's the best possible
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Does anyone ever go to the Blue Jays subreddit? Geezus that place sucks.

I can't deal with the bandwaggoners. There's a secret Jays sub that has a lot of good posters but I've seen month dead roadkill with more life than it.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Things will improve with this team's lack of offense, they always do (and I'm not just talking about last year). We're actually 5th in the AL in runs scored even with a measly .227 team average. We lead the league in walks and strikeouts (which will regress as the bats warm up). We're just missing that timely hit right now, not cashing in with runners in scoring position and striking out too much. This will change soon and so will the make up of the line up at some point. Travis will help this team more than some realize with his bat and I think Pompey can do the same. The positives that we are ignoring is that our biggest concerns was with our pitching, yet we have a team ERA of just 3.39, last year for the month of April we had a 4.78 team ERA and if we didn't hit out of our shoes we would have been a lot worse than just 1 game under .500 at the deadline. We are a full 1.5 runs better with our defense & pitching, keeping that up is the most important part of this year's success because the bats will come alive even though many here can't see it. Even if they go back to 80% of what last year brought us we will put up a large run differential if our pitching keeps rolling. Some of the losses this year have been caused from passed balls, lil' loopers, s***** infield hits, etc. Our manager hasn't made too many awful decisions. We have to be better all around yes, but a little luck going our way will also turn the tides. We aren't getting blown away by the competition (we have a +3 run differential lost in this mess) and will hit the ground running in May.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I'm not worried about Martin more concerned about Tulo. Wih his surgery and batting in Colorado etc. Maybe 70-80 WRC is the new Tulp
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 It's time to make changes Martin and Tulo's contracts are a bit unsettling. Martin is owed another 3/60 for his age 34-36 season and Tulo another 4/78 for 32-35 seasons, and both are already projected as league-average hitters. This is why you don't follow the Yankees model on a mid-tier payroll.
