Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I don't think catching a fastball was JP's problem, he wasn't very good at it but passable. It was more to do with hitting anything that isn't a fastball. Stabbing at catching a fastball is not good. He took strikes away from his pitchers. Only thing that kept in the majors was his power. Otherwise a completely useless player

43211234 Verified Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Gregor Chisholm @gregorMLB 57s58 seconds ago Montero is out of options and cannot be sent to Minors without clearing waivers. I'd have to think #BlueJays will try to get him through. Jays are 26th on the waiver wire so there's a decent chance he makes it through to Buffalo. Waivers go by league first so the Blue Jays were 13th on the waiver wire when claiming Montero.
