Cyborg Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 “I will explore every single option, whether it happens or not with the new regime, to continue to try to stay here,” Bautista said. “That being said, I think teams utilize that a lot against players, [seeking] a discount or bargain price, and I think that’s extremely unfair, especially to have your biggest contributors on the field and try to take advantage of the fact that they like it there and negotiate a tougher deal.” Still not signing here.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I don't know i can see him playing first. I can But he likely wants to keep play OF for now, even though his skills have deteriorated massively I can see that being a deciding factor in what team he chooses actually Only AL teams will be interested (unless there's real traction this off season to add the designated hitter to the NL soon)

At first I thought he was selfish and really trying to get the most money, but when he voluntarily offered his services to lead off? I guess he won't mind shifting to 1B.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 So Bautista is 3 HR away from 300 And not a thread in sight :-(

Governator Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 It works pretty well for Boston with Ortiz... He's 16m/yr. Bats wanted 30m.

baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Brotha just wants to fap. No need to make him feel bad
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Still not signing here. He's got a lot of investments in Toronto, it does make sense for him to sign here for (slightly) less than he could get elsewhere based on that alone. He can pick up some weekday shifts at his Booster Juice location too.

xposbrad Verified Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 It works pretty well for Boston with Ortiz... They still need a high end pitcher they will get through trade possibly this year, costing more money. Then XB I am sure they are going to want to sign long term, probably costing them min 10-15m/yr. Even with Ortiz gone, they are going to be over their budget this year, so I can't see how they would add another 20m+ player, especially a dh. Panda comes back next year, he's DHing.
