Jonzo Verified Member Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 No surprise here I guess.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 How will he and Friedman work together?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 "Alex, the first thing we need you to do is talk to Yasiel Puig"
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I thought AA said that he would be joining a team in a media roll (which was rumored to be the Marlins?)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I thought AA said that he would be joining a team in a media roll (which was rumored to be the Marlins?) ... irons in the fire ... balls in the air ... insert platitude here ...
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 So his job is deciding what to have for lunch?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 So his job is deciding what to have for lunch? I see what you're fishing for...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hes probably getting paid the same or possibly more with absolutely zero pressure on him. Plus he gets to live in California. Sounds like a pretty good gig.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 AA/Gyro jokes are getting as tired as "Smoakin' baby" There still is life in the Donair Navarro horse though...
Cyborg Verified Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 He's 4th in the chain of command behind Friedman, Zaidi, and Byrnes.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 He's 4th in the chain of command behind Friedman, Zaidi, and Byrnes. Probably could care less if the money is good. Plus he obviously likes those guys, whereas there was definite friction between him and Shapiro.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I see what you're fishing for... No seriously, that's probably going to be the biggest decision he makes on a daily basis. At least he didn't become a 1st base coach I guess.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 The whole reason he left Toronto is because his role would be reduced. Yes, by Shapiro.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 The whole reason he left Toronto is because his role would be reduced. That's what he tells us, though it could easily be a lie
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 It was a family based decision. Had to think about his wife and kids when he decided to turn down a very stable situation in his home country and uproot them all so he could take a demotion in California.

I'm stunned that people still don't realize that he was pretty much fired. They offered him a way to save face and he took it.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 How do all you Friedman fanboys reconcile the fact that the man you hate the most was just hired by your mancrush?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 How do all you Friedman fanboys reconcile the fact that the man you hate the most was just hired by your mancrush? I'm wondering how the AA fanboys are reconciling the fact that the man they hate so much was able to get their man crush to accept a demotion and be his 4th in command.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 People that liked AA hate Friedman? I was stooping to the level of the post I quoted.

Have you ever been to California? "hey kids - we're moving to California and daddy's going to have a lot less stress and a lot more time to spend with you" Seems like a great family decision to me.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I'm wondering how the AA fanboys are reconciling the fact that the man they hate so much was able to get their man crush to accept a demotion and be his 4th in command. I can't really think of any AA fanboys who hate Friedman. That certainly doesn't describe me as AA is meh to me and I like Friedman. It's just funny that someone you think is so stupid and incompetent was just hired by the guy that you think is nails. So do you still cheer for the Dodgers even though the guy that caused you to leave the Jays works there now? And what about Friedman? He just hired a guy that you think is so stupid you gave up your hometown team for. Do you think less of him?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I was stooping to the level of the post I quoted. Oh come on. I'm mostly teasing but you're creating a strawman there. No one on this board loved AA and hated Friedman. If they did they were a troll. You did, however, hate AA to such a degree that you stopped cheering for the Jays. You thought so highly of Friedman that you started following his teams. Now the two have collided and I thought it was worth pointing out is all.
