guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 just came on to say LOL DBACKS, what the f*** were they thinking? Like I know Stewart is the GM but god damn, is there no one in that front office that could have stepped in and said, "dude this trade is terrible in so many ways, why are we doing this?"

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I wonder what job satisfaction would be like for an analyst working for the D-Backs. There's no way you'd enjoy going into work, even though the job itself might be what you've always wanted to do.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 So he didn't improve, he just changed. ok whatever you're obtuse When Stroman added his 2 other pitches to give him 6 quality offerings he didnt get any better either then, he just changed as well too right...... You're the obtuse one
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Their valuations are all messed up. Maybe they view Shelby as a future ace or something? It's stupid enough that they wanted to deal the Swanson package over Pollock (rumours pointed to a straight swap of Miller and Pollock) Do you think Pollock suxxxxxxx or something? That's highway robbery in itself, mate.
Key22 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Maybe Stewart will give us his remaining top four prospects for Ben Revere, RA Dickey and Josh Thole. Since you know - they need a corner outfielder.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Oh dear god LMAO @ Diamondback fans: "Unlike the Greinke debacle, this deal makes sense. Arizona gets a pitcher with great numbers on a terrible team. I've never been in love with 1st round picks. They're a gamble. I think maybe the D-backs might play .500 this year."
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Do you think Pollock suxxxxxxx or something? That's highway robbery in itself, mate. No. What I was trying to say was I think Inciarte, Swanson, and Blair are worth more than Pollock. It's weird how the DBacks rejected that trade suggestion and instead went with giving up Inciarte, Swanson, and Blair instead

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Shelby Miller: A) the most overrated pitcher in baseball the most overrated player in baseball pick! (no other options exist) Yadier Molina still exists, so A)
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 He's a young controllable pitcher with big upside and was highly touted since he was in high school. Despite what their xFIPs and WARs are, he has a lot more trade value than Drew Hutchison and rightfully so. The Braves made a very good move trading 1 year of Heyward for him. You mean that move that was almost universally panned? He shouldn't have more trade value than Hutch, same talent level plus Miller is an *******.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Maybe Stewart will give us his remaining top four prospects for Ben Revere, RA Dickey and Josh Thole. Since you know - they need a corner outfielder. They actually would make suitable trade partners for Revere, now that you mention it. I wonder what he would fetch given Stewart, gives zero f***s about prospects and, would love dat AVG and Speed.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Dave Stewart is starting a Preller-esque grease fire. That's too harsh on Preller. Wow, this might turn out to be a historically bad trade.

This is the funniest part about this post IMO. Diamondbacks still won't be competitive. I don't see them as a better team than LAD or SF.

I don't see them as a better team than LAD or SF. Yeah. Well, I mean, this trade made them worse not just in the long run. Enciarte is a good player and Miller will be taking the spot of someone probably just as good. Would like to see Atkins/TLC/Shapyro go out and nab De La Rosa or Anderson for pennies.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Blockbuster deal: Donaldson+Revere+Colabello for Goldschmidt+Pollock DOES STEWART SAY YES???
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Blockbuster deal: Donaldson+Revere+Colabello for Goldschmidt+Pollock DOES STEWART SAY YES??? Why trade Donaldson?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Why trade Donaldson? Value at an all-time high, Goldy is signed super-cheap, Stewart would probably fall for a big name like JD... Plus I am super sleep deprived right now
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Why trade Donaldson? Because Goldschmidt and Pollock. We could probably flip Pollock off for an arm like Mark Appel and address the rotation.

Lol, why the hell would we do that? Feel like we'd be getting too good a deal, so may as well squander some of the return? You honestly have the worst ideas. Stop posting.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Holy s*** our pets heads are falling off....has Dave Stewart gone mad?
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 You mean that move that was almost universally panned? He shouldn't have more trade value than Hutch, same talent level plus Miller is an *******. Nope. Same WAR, a descriptive stat as you seem to understand. Different upsides and talent level. That's my opinion, let's not argue because we've both looked at fangraphs and watched both guys pitch in 2015.
TRM Verified Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Because Goldschmidt and Pollock. We could probably flip Pollock off for an arm like Mark Appel and address the rotation. I love you.

I'm thinking someone like a Luke Gregerson type, maybe.

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 lmao Dave Stewart is f***ing awful.
