Governator Community Moderator Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Whoever started this thread, I have them on ignore. Was it Trouba? lol that was for me too. Didn't see the thread.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Doesn't sound like Lacava will be the GM long term.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Shapiro: "no one player holds the key to the future of this organization" #Bluejays Goodbye Donaldson f*** that. That would kill the fanbase.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 He is tiring of the AA questions, as am I.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Mike Wilner Shapiro doesn't want to talk about Alex anymore. #Bluejays #Jays
Rajais Mitten Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 lovely lets end it all off with another AA question
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Wish someone asked a question about the team's Spring Training facility.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Watching Shapiro handle these questions is impressive. He's saying all the right things, while also providing some substance and not just blowing air. I loved a lot of the particulars that he said re: his values, what he values in a GM, etc. He has some very impressive things to say about culture and process.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Jon Morosi Mark Shapiro referred to "two spots in rotation" needing to be filled -- which leads me to believe R.A. Dickey is back. Stroman, Hutchison, RA Dickey
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Sure doesn't sound like he intends to keep Lacava as GM It's entirely possible LaCava doesn't WANT to be a GM too.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 f*** that. That would kill the fanbase. Don't let yourself get trolled.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 He is tiring of the AA questions, as am I. no s***. I cant wait for "the AA issue" to be old news. time to move on. Shapiro skilled with media. lets get down to the real business of baseball and this team going forward. enough of the side show.
Jeff Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Jon Morosi Mark Shapiro referred to "two spots in rotation" needing to be filled -- which leads me to believe R.A. Dickey is back. Stroman, Hutchison, RA Dickey He also said be it internal or external.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Don't let yourself get trolled. yeah let me re-phrase that: That would kill the casuals attendance to games, until Jays are in a playoff push again.
metafour Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Who was that woman reporter? Totally obvious she knew nothing about baseball: "Hey, are you going to sign David Price?", its like she spent 10 minutes reading over the narratives before the press conference started.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Someone should of asked if Estrada will be offered the QO
ColdPint Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Jon Morosi Mark Shapiro referred to "two spots in rotation" needing to be filled -- which leads me to believe R.A. Dickey is back. Stroman, Hutchison, RA Dickey For the love of god, if Hutch makes the rotation next year it has to be because he has earned it. At this point I have no faith in carrying him as one of the 5.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Stroman, Dickey, one of Hutchison/Sanchez/Osuna/Hendriks imo. Hutch blows. Hopefully it's Sanchez/Osuna/Hendriks.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 yeah let me re-phrase that: That would kill the casuals attendance to games, until Jays are in a playoff push again. My larger point was that there was no reason to bring up Donaldson. That was just Ang trolling.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Someone should of asked if Estrada will be offered the QO Do these reporters even know what a QO is?
Jeff Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Someone should of asked if Estrada will be offered the QO The woman reporter did and he didn't give firm answer. Though he did state at the beginning that they would be deciding on options/offers in the next few days so I imagine they will.
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Well.. I have to say wrong guy lost his job.. It should be Gibby who should lose his job... Poor management and decision making skills.. but he is alive because of many 'GIBBY SHIELDERS'.. f*** you Gibby
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Someone should of asked if Estrada will be offered the QO He wouldn't have answered a question about a specific player anyways. Even that Estrada, Price question was a pretty dumb one to ask.
Governator Community Moderator Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Shapiro sounds pro to me.
Carp12 Verified Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 So the answer to GM autonomy is no. As long as the GM's decision makes sense (ie. Shapiro agrees), he'll sign off. He didn't say that did he?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I thought it was interesting that he said that AA didn't even really want to talk contract. Sounds like AA had one foot out the door for awhile.
