I think AA's perception of loss of autonomy simply comes from Shapiro having more baseball acumen than Beeston. That was bound to happen with any decent Beeston replacement unless that replacement was AA himself.

If this is accurate then it looks like this guy is not mincing words nor letting his thoughts be known. Looks like an even bigger shakeup is about to happen.

Very interesting.

 

On the whole, I think AA's body of work was hit-and-miss but I understand that he made some big moves and the playoff run is still fresh in everyone's mind.

 

I'll be interested to see how this affects everyone else, most notably, Gibbons. Is Manny Acta currently managing somewhere? I seem to remember him as being a pretty forward thinking guy, by manager standards.

 

At least we'll have something to talk about this offseason.

Gibbons is sooo bottom of the chain in the pecking order right now.

After seeing this quote from Wilner, I am now fully convinced that this was the right move by the Jays and that everything will be fine:

 

"It's a huge mistake on the Blue Jays part; [Anthopoulos] had a fantastic year, he might have had the best trade deadline ever."
