Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 You're just sore cause a non-Asian is being called a ninja. Boxy isn't Asian bro, just a board meme.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Kind of annoying to see people praising AA for the "ninja" moves in grabbing Price and Tulo. He only had to give up most of the farm's top end, what a ninja master. Well the Tulo deal was pretty good in context. Can we have Norris and Boyd back, though?

Yes, that's where it originated, he keeps stuff close to the chest, for the most part.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Boxy isn't Asian bro, just a board meme. Wouldn't that still play into it?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Not mad. Norris will amount of nothing. Hoffman, though.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Wouldn't that still play into it? Sure.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 You were very upset with me for saying the Tulo trade might not be a heist. I was upset with you for saying Tulo is 2 months away from being an albatross.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 C'mon Boxy, it isn't all doom and gloom on his resume, I know the same as you in deets of his past, but a guy can change, he's done a decent job. He rebuilt that farm quickly and moved guys for great assets to win a WS, he came pretty close. Yeah but if he can't accommodate what Shapiro wants to do here then I'd rather he leave. You don't bring in a guy like Mark Shapiro to keep making fun of Fangraphs and waste money on tons of major league scouts.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Well the Tulo deal was pretty good in context. Can we have Norris and Boyd back, though? It was good but not total bumrape like Donaldson.

You realize that major league scouts just single-handedly won the ALCS for Kansas City, right? jesus duck

Would probably have scored him anyway. If not it was still tied. If they don't win game 6 they still have game 7. That's ********.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I don't think they hit price that hard. The homers in game 6 were barely over the fence.., if at all in one case. The 7th in game 2 gad 2 bloopers... The obvious one and the Hosmer hit. If Goins makes a catch he should of and the dumb fan doesn't make one he shouldn't of... Price is likely 2-0 and we are watching a game in 30 minutes.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Wat? There is a lot of crap going around about how the scouts won the series... especially the Cain send... That's what I thought he was referring to. Did you see this?? http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/judging-the-royals/article41317512.html

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 AA deserves credit for the Donaldson deal, but signing Martin involved paying him more than any other team was willing to and the Tulo/Price trades involved trading his two top pitching prospects + other pieces. The Dickey/Marlins trades were incredibly short-sighted/terrible, and despite his scouting team being able to identify talent in the draft, there doesn't appear to be any sort of structure in terms of how prospects are developed. On one hand you have Stroman getting AAA time, and on the other you have Sanchez reaching the Majors despite not pitching well at any level + Osuna/Castro jumping straight from A-ball to the Majors to fill bullpen spots, to Pompey jumping 3 levels in a year and getting 3 weeks under his belt to start 2015 before he's deemed unready, etc, etc, etc. The Jays can definitely do better than AA, especially with Shapiro on board.
