Sweet. Then he should accept a 3 year 65M contract since he gets food and drink for free now. LOL. He won't get that in LA or Detroit.

I'm sure there is some tax nerd sitting at his desk wondering how he can tax the freebies.

Usually those type of freebies aren't an issue, what I've seen happen in some other places where they like to tax people is go after barter deals that celebrities make.

For example, come be a guest of honor for a corporate party that I have here for exchange of a new Lexus.

There's a celebrity in Israel being sued for millions by the tax man for those type of deals.

Dunno where else to put this but anyone who was trying to get one of Stroman's limited hats, they're at Jays Store Eaton's now

MLBTR:

Right-hander Chad Jenkins, whom the Blue Jays designated for assignment upon signing Gavin Floyd to a one-year deal, has been outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo, according to the Jays’ transactions page at MLB.com.

Sean Nolin please. Great AAA/spot starter/reliever depth.

Do we still have room for starters in AAA? Kinda feels like all the spots are taken.

AAA rotation currently looks like this:

1. Scott Diamond

2. Roberto "Don't call me Fausto Carmona" Hernandez

3. Brad Penny

4. Wade Leblanc

5. Drew Hutchison (if he doesn't make the big club).

+ Chad Jenkins

So yes there seem to be enough guys to fill the starters jobs but on the flip side, a healthy Nolin could be a nice asset. Might be able to ramp up his velocity from low 90s to closer to mid 90s in a bullpen role if it comes to that.

The Bisons will need 10+ starters, just like any MLB team.

I believe Hernandez and Penny have opt-outs in ST and the others might as well. Nothing is set in stone.

Losing Fausto Carmona was a big hit to the awesome names of the MLB.

That, and having 2 C/Kris Davis's was pretty devastating

Edwin Encarnacion, who is eligible for free agency after the upcoming season, has set an Opening Day deadline to sign a contract extension with the Toronto Blue Jays. That’s less than seven weeks away.

Encarnacion’s agent, Paul Kinzer, told FOX Sports on Monday that the Blue Jays have not made the designated hitter a multiyear contract offer this offseason. Kinzer said formal contract negotiations have yet to begin with the team’s new baseball operations leaders, Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins.

“It’s not like we’re upset with anyone,” Kinzer said in a telephone interview. “There’s plenty of time to work out a deal if they want to.

“Edwin loves it there. He’s talked about how, if he has another couple good seasons, he might have his number on the wall. But they [shapiro and Atkins] are new, so they’re still getting to know everyone.”

lol some guy makes a thread about something decent and gets told to come over to this thread because it was already posted within the 1000 pages. Like really a message board that you can't start new topics? you have to come and post it in one of the already started threads that many people prob miss.

Message Board Nazis.

funny thing is, I went back and looked through it and it was barely discussed. Its quite interesting that it wasnt discussed more though, considering how many people on here bitch about Rogers being cheap. Wonder if it had anything to do with the insatiable need to have everything in one thread......

Ha I didn't even bother, 90% of the s*** in the threads that everyone is directed to is off topic.

Thanks warning me before I went and wasted my time though.

EE could get in a car crash in the DR (has been known to happen) or some other s*** between now and season opener. Less risk if the Jays sign him closer to his deadline.

It's a bluff anyhow. Show the $$, he will sign whenever.

Yeah if something is only discussed in this thread, 50% chance I miss it altogether. I'd understand for super active boards where things get knocked off the front page in no time, but come the f*** on.
