Yeah. The team doesn't even have 5 relievers better than replacement, and he's almost a 3-win player according to RA-9 WAR, which would understate his actual value.

He is a huge upgrade in the pen and the Jays need that but can they afford it. That would only leave 12.5 mil to spend unless they DFA Revere which I'm now thinking they just may have to.

Ok, you're going on ignore.

Why because he correctly identified Revere is a non tender candidate?

I would understand this if trades were illegal and Toronto's decision was to keep 2 and cut 1 of Revere, Pompey, Saunders.

But how can he possibly be a non-tender candidate? Some team out there would want him, even if it's just for a PTBNL.

I hope someone wants him. The Phillies pretty much gave him to us for free. His market was tiny at the deadline.

Pretty sure I recall reports saying there was a ton of interest in him at the deadline.

Yeah but that's a pretty specific time from which to judge his value. You've only got so many contending teams looking to add a non-impact OF.

His offseason market should be much bigger

He's been a 2 win player in three of the last four seasons. I wouldn't mind if he was traded, but no way he should be non-tendered. Saunders' knee is shot and Pompey is a question mark.

So, at the earliest, he could begin baseball activities in March. That's not ideal, but hopefully he'll be back and fully healthy by mid-season and he can put this injury behind him for good.

Jon Morosi@jonmorosi 3m3 minutes ago

#BlueJays, #Dodgers, #Yankees among the teams to have at least preliminary trade talks with #Indians, sources say. (1/2)

For each of 3 teams mentioned, #Indians would obtain everyday OF and part with a starting pitcher. Many scenarios in play for CLE. (2/2)

Revere for McAllister

Tomlin averages 88 MPH. I know velo isn't the end all, but give me McAllister instead please.

McAllister is a RP though. Morosi said its talks of an OF for a SP.

Unless you are considering moving him back to the rotation, in which case it would be like adding another Liam Hendriks.

Yep. Bautista for Bauer

Tomlin's HR rate going to RC would be absolutely obscene. Woof.

Duly noted. I'll file this opinion under "things said about Marco Estrada"
