canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 In the same way you could say "should have lost game 5 of the DS" Home field. It does make a difference with this team. This team is better then they played in the playoffs.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I know we've had many male posters pretending to be female in the past, but I have been doing some recruiting on other fan sites, so keep the assumptions to a minimum and be respectful to all new posters until they aren't respectful back. We know how group mentality gets around here and often all it takes is one "she's got a dick" message and the place blows up. lol I took it as a joke with the random "I'm a woman(wink emoji)" thing.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 It was the first time in my life ever seeing the Blue Jays in the playoffs, and it was a joy to watch. There were many highs and lows, but it was a season I'll never forget. Game 5 of the ALDS was one for the ages. that game you should download and keep on your HDD for a good watch in the future. that 7th inning will be talked about by our grandchildren. completely epic!!! edit: if anyone wants to get that game and need help finding it PM me and I'll help a fellow fan out.

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I'm finally just now at the point where I can appreciate everything the Jays have done this season. It took me a while to calm down after Friday's game and not have my mind clouded from anger. I had a good weekend with my kids, pumpkin picking Saturday morning, visit from grandparents, watched movies and had no sports on all weekend. Mind is clear. This season is why I've been a fan for so long. The last 6 or 7 years in particular (much thanks to Bautista in all honesty) really re-energized me to root harder for this team than any other in sport. This season started like any other, we were down Stroman and Saunders before things began. I thought for sure we were going to be plagued with injuries all season like we always are - a series of unfortunate events if you will. But even without our go to arm, even with a declining SS, even without our second baseman for most of the season we somehow stayed around .500 all while using a first baseman or AAA depth in left field. We managed to hang around and be that team short a few pieces to be competitive. Then the miracle happens when we get our deadline boost. It showed us what things can be like in a perfect world, when a GM's back is against the wall and he's forced to make a move. With great hitting up and down the line up, excellent infield defense and with a trio of outfielders who for the most part are better than we've had in a long time, things quickly turned our way. We might not have gone all the way, we certainly got the s*** end of the stick but we did get to see meaningful baseball in September and more importantly in October and for that I am truly thankful for the never give up attitude throughout this organization. And the best news? Most of this team will be in tact next year. We will see this line up for seasons to come. We will see stroshow for years ahead, we will get to watch Osuna develop in to a complete pitcher whichever direction that takes him be it starter or closer. We will see what our rotation will look like when AA (or whoever) focuses purely on pitching in a FA rich off season. We have a fan base that is arguably louder & prouder than any in the league coupled with a front office who wants to win again. I can't wait until April 4th to continue this new chapter. I don't care what NY, Boston, Baltimore or Tampa does. I care about this team, the best team in baseball to cheer for and one we've been waiting decades for to be in this position. We will win that pennant again, whether that's next year or soon after and we will celebrate with a grand display of fireworks & rum. With that said... Go Mets Go. Go Mets Go.

IBTrini Verified Member Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) What was the forum saying about the HR in the 2nd? Clearly that ball was not going out, and social media has been exploding over it. Ridiculous IMO. Did anyone agree with the call? If you really have to ask this question then you have not been around GDTs often. Anyway, the decision went to NY and apparently they have a lot more camera angles they can review. It's either they saw one angle where it definitely was going to be a HR or there weren't any angles which would be significant enough to override the decision on the field. What was a tad more infuriating, at least to me, was the strike call on Revere even though you cannot say for sure the outcome would have been different if it was called a ball. With 2 on and 0 outs and in a 3-1 count you have a slight advantage cuz the pitcher does not want to have a bases-loaded situation with thunder (Donaldson), lightening (Bautista), and a tsunami (Encarnacion) in clear sight. The botched call put the hitter at a disadvantage as he had to swing, and protect the plate, at a less than ideal pitch. Anyway, that's just my take on it. The Jays brought a lot of excitement and pride to their fans and for that I am grateful. It is true the fan turnout most probably has a trickle-through effect to revenue - advertising etc. - however I am not holding my breath on a big salary jump. The Jays may decide to take another kick at the can with their stars on 2016 but they will be expensive and aging after that. Tough decisions are going to be made this off-season for sure and I am glad I am not the one who has to do it. Edited October 26, 2015 by IBTrini
