Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Media are full of cowards. At least Fox 1 broadcast was talking about everything that went against the jays. Congrats to that jackasses in Kansas City but the JAYS were robbed
comeon sense Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 True. f*** the Royals. They didn't deserve to win this game just for this s*** 9th inning. Go Mets all the way. Switch KC to our division, and they dont win it.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I think i'll be having nightmares about that piece of s*** KC Fan who reached over in that "homerun", and that claimed that his hand was in a different place. It pleases me to know he will never touch a woman thats not his sister (Though in KC they probably look favorably at a thing like that)

wpgjaysfan Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Despite all that happened in the postseason, I would bring Price back if possible as well as Estrada
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Wait a sec why the f*** did dinner Navarro hit for goins? LMAO 100% thats the right call there.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Part of an article written yesterday. “We didn’t have one issue,” Byrnes said. “Going in, the crew chief said he was skeptical. But by the end of two days, he said it allowed him to do his job as a home plate umpire so much better. He could focus on check swings, foul tips, plays at the plate. He didn’t have to worry about calling balls and strikes.” Over the years, I have given MLB a lot of unsolicited advice. In one glorious moment, I was chewed out over the phone by Bud Selig while driving my son to buy his first baseball glove. But this radical change in policy should be a no-brainer, embraced by everyone. There was a time when professional tennis was full of petulant brats arguing line calls with hapless umpires. The invention of Hawk-Eye technology put images on a screen, showing everyone where the ball had landed. Tempers cooled immediately. The technology was only an extrapolation of data, and not a real picture. But it gave the illusion of fairness, order and control. And there was no one to argue with. Major League Baseball could use more technology and less pigheadedness. The Pitch f/x technology is already installed at all ballparks, a three-camera system that records the trajectory of a pitch within a one-inch margin for error. Surely, it can be tweaked for greater accuracy, if needed. So fed up with this ump ********.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Me neither. Its hard. I shut the TV off immediately after the JD ground out was caught and my 7 year old BURST into tears. I wanted to but had to be an adult lol. It was hard. He was so upset. Mostly mad at the calls. I always immediately change the channel when we lose. I can't stand watching the other team celebrate. And I guess I have something in common with a seven year old...

To get punished for that all of a sudden in the club's most important inning in recent history is egregious. It was like the ump was punishing us for not trying to swing and drive in Pompey

JaysRap Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I can't believe the Royals in 2014 including the playoffs went 157 - 4 when leading after the 7th inning. That is an insane stat.

Nabru Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Is one naive to believe that there isn't at least some rigging going on in all pro sports? It happens in other countries, why do people believe North America is immune to it?
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 And a 35 year old. Same. I muted it for a few seconds and then just turned the tv off all together. Where's BBBB when you need him!?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 We're a f***ing team that works the count and isn't afraid of walks. To get punished for that all of a sudden in the club's most important inning in recent history is egregious. It is true. We had lots of chances to score and didn't. That's on us. Using Sanchez when we did is on us. Goins taking a 1st strike when bunting is on us. Bautista's throw back in on Hosmer's hit is on us. Martin calling for a slider BBing Cain to lead off is on us. But that doesn't change the fact a ball should be a f***ing ball and Revere and Navvy got screwed against Davis. Even with our mistakes we were right there to win this. (not to mention the HR call and no balk call)
DonnysManbun Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 100% thats the right call there. Gotta disagree Navarro has been the worst hitter on the team this year imo

It happens in other countries, why do people believe North America is immune to it? Those riggings are usually done by players, as an umpire or a ref alone cannot change the outcome of the game with enough assurity to be relied upon. Pro athletes in North America are paid to such a high degree that it would be of no benefit to them to rig sports games, unless its for other reasons like covering up an affair.
admin Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Gotta disagree Navarro has been the worst hitter on the team this year imo s***** as he is, he has one of the better K rates on our team, so was probably the right move.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Seems fairly obvious to me, but we're probably just conspiracy theory nutjobs, right? I can accept defeat when it's fair. I don't go looking and hoping I find things that show we got screwed, I would prefer that it didn't exist, but some things are so blantantly ridiculous. Even saw a KC fan who admitted to the ******** that went on in that game and said that the win felt dirty.
admin Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I don't understand how they replay the HR call, and it's still a homerun. It was pretty clear it was not going to be a homerun. I don't understand how that wasn't corrected. That was a gamechanger right there.
Nabru Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Seems fairly obvious to me, but we're probably just conspiracy theory nutjobs, right? And I don't like when people throw around the term conspiracy theorist. But it does make you wonder, no? I'm not even mad. When I was younger, I'd get mad if my team lost but now if I want to watch a game I try to just enjoy it for the players and the entertainment it provides. Sure I'd have loved for the Jays and Cubs to win, but it doesn't affect my life if they don't. MLB sells you a baseball game. There is nothing that says they can't influence the powers that be to help out with whatever desired outcome is on tap that night. Look at the NBA. It's fake. I mean, there is serious rigging for certain teams/players. Just google it. And MLB and American football produce $$$$. If there is lots of $$$$ involved, well, we know how the human race is.

It happens in other countries, why do people believe North America is immune to it? I'd need some evidence before I start believing that but I do I think there's unconscious bias affection the results, absolutely. The ump's strikezone changed completely at the end of the game. He wanted the Royals to get the calls and it clouded his judgement. If he looks at the replay, he'll probably be suprised by how badly he missed.

It happens in other countries, why do people believe North America is immune to it? I think the league tells the umps to be slightly biased in their calls in order to give an advantage to the home team. Kind of like in Game 5 a few days ago, in Toronto. Volquez was hitting the strike zone with RISP but the ump would cut him no slack. Ended up getting the bases loaded. I'm pretty sure a lot of those "balls" were strikes. Same thing happened tonight in KC.

Whatever, I guess I just don't get it, and at this point, those ******** calls in the ninth are pissing me off even more.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 He's already going to suffer enough, he has to go through life looking like that. Please did you see some of the crowd in KC. Compared to the gargoyles he was sitting with, He looked like Brad Pitt. Trust me, that guy is getting the first pick when it comes time for him to marry one of his cousins,
