Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Any word yet on the roster for this series? I'm expecting Thole to make the cut this time, perhaps at the expense of Tepara. Or Carrera. Should be out anytime now. Royals just released theirs.

Or Carrera. Thole does not offer anything. He can't pinch hit or run and you might as well use martin for Dickey which will only be one start and he offers way more the Thole through out the game. At least Carrera can pinch run
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Good to hear that Loup is now back, but I'm wondering whether he'll mentally be all there right now... I'd assume whatever happened would have been pretty serious for him to miss two postseason games...

At least Carrera can pinch run Thole lets Navarro pinch hit.

At least Carrera can pinch run The thought is obviously just so Navarro can pinch hit, but I agree it's not worth the wasted spot. Carerra and Navarro are basically the same offensive player except Carerra provides speed depth as well.

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Have they set times for Tuesdays games yet? I'm assuming we're at 4PM but want to confirm.

Yeah, after some digging he does indeed have his own brand http://whatproswear.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/jose-bautista-marucci-logo.png I'd actually consider buying that cap he is wearing... But I've no idea where to get them, lol.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Don't forget the "Joey series" http://wpmedia.news.nationalpost.com/2015/05/bbafashion_jose_bautista_20150507-11.jpg?w=620
DonnysManbun Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Jays in 4. Kansas city has nothing outside of cueto in their rotation. All their hitters are overrated. People GLOW over Salvador Perez when he's simply a pillar level talent. Hacker with good defence. He will have a horrible series and be exposed as the overrated lump that he is.

avatar22 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I'm just relieved we don't have to deal with Delino Deshields anymore. As a former Expos fan, I feel like he was sent to exact vengeance for his father. And the guy runs like a rocket - he just gets on base and you might as well give up and wave him home.

We did benefit big time from his horrible defence too however, lol. Glad (for us) that he is still in the process of learning how to play the outfield.

Yeah the Royals offense is a lot less scary than the Rangers. They got some guys who can run and manufacture runs or whatever, but hopefully the Jays can just overpower them. I'm hoping we can make a tombstone for Volquez tonight.

Glad (for us) that he is still in the process of learning how to play the outfield. Agreed. But every time he came up to bat I was cringing. He was hitting these routine infield grounders and somehow beating the throw like he was teleporting to the base or something. Unreal.

That's where Martin needs to shine.
avatar22 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 That's where Martin needs to shine. Did Martin even get to throw anyone out in this last series? I can't remember. This is why these small ball teams scare me. Great pitching can shut down the home run and even the base hit, but it seems almost impossible to defend against these sacrifice guerrilla tactics we saw Texas using throughout the series. Yeah, if our home run guys are active they will score more runs than the other team can manufacture, but if they run into dominant pitching, we are $$$ed.

Saying Perez is a Pillar level talent is an insult to Pillar.

I think he threw out Odor going to 3rd, can't remember anyone else. It is pretty annoying. But this isn't NL ball, have to hit it into the seats if you're going to beat the Jays. Morales, Hosmer, etc are nice hitters but not as worrisome as the Choo/Fielder/Beltre middle of the lineup.
